ITHACA -- Ithaca Fair Trade Coalition seeks participants for the first Ithaca Fair Trade Fair, to be held on The Commons on Saturday, May 17.
IFTC is looking for speakers to present on fair trade options or the damaging effects of free trade. IFTC is also seeking musicians, vendors offering fairly traded products and local organizations working on fair trade initiatives. The event will coincide with hundreds of others around the world to celebrate World Fair Trade Day.

IFTC is looking for speakers to present on fair trade options or the damaging effects of free trade. Yes, like increased wealth for all, jobs, better living conditions for the poor, etc.
The week leading up to the fair will include many teach-ins at local schools ...to present these topics to ...
And I'm sure the Ithaca School system will make sure the pro-free trade side is also presented.
Ithaca is the City of Evil.

the damaging effects of free tradeFreedom really scares these people. Remember, the people can't be trusted with freedom. As Hillary has instructed us, "it takes a (big government) village."

You make a good point. Liberals don't speak of freedom. They always speak of fairness. Of the imposition of their own moral view on others.

Liberals don't speak of freedom. They always speak of fairness. Of the imposition of their own moral view on others. Liberalism is the antithesis of morality.

You make a good point. Liberals don't speak of freedom. They always speak of fairness. Of the imposition of their own moral view on others. However, "free trade" as typified by NAFTA and the WTO is nothing of the sort. Free trade would be trade without interference between those doing the trading, not some heavy-handed supra-national regulatory regime, even if ostensibly "pro-business".
This "fair trade" is really the same sort of deal run by different people. Neither one is free or fair.

Great point. "Fair" just means "the way we liberals will force you to act." "Fair" housing, "fair" trade, "fair" wage, etc.

Very good points. Over the years liberals have set themselves up as a national judge and jury for what is 'fair' and 'right.'
Fortunately, fewer Americans are accepting their decisions.
