God bless the children of Iraq, and I think it would be hard not to love them. I hope that they are given complete freedom, that means freedom of speech, and freedom of religion. May they forever be free!

I pray, pray, pray these people never again have to live under such evil.

The only way a predominantly Muslim country has ever been able to keep from getting wrapped up in self-inflicted grief in modern times is with a system like Turkey's, where the government is secular. The "religion of peace" has a very mean side, and I hope Dubya recognizes this even if belatedly. I hope the new constitution categorically rules out not only a dictator but also any kind of theocratic rule or sharia law.

Exactly. And the mullahs are against it because if their people get a wiff of freedom they might want it, too.

Freedom looks mighty good on satelite TV.

Or the colonists when they pulled down the statue of King George 111! But I think that was probably either before the Rev. War, or just after it started.

ONE OF MY FAVORITES!

A soldier from the 422nd Civil Affairs Battalion and his new friend in a small village near Najaf, Iraq on April 02, 2003. The unit is in the town providing humanitarian assistance. The 422nd is in Iraq in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. OIF is the multinational effort to liberate the people of Iraq, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein. (Released) (U.S. Army photo by SSG Kevin P. Bell)

This one gave me goosebumps! The civilians are being allowed to take part in their own trasnformation from a downtrodden people to a proud, liberated people. I'm so glad to see them participating in symbolic events like this!

Think of this every time the LW fruitloops tell you the Iraqis don't want to be liberated.

I love that picture!

They're all wonderful. Dr. Bob Arnot is an embed to follow and he is clearly charmed by the families he is meeting. The children seem very sweet.
