Heh. Just wait till I'm out of college. I am planning to attend law school and specialize in dispute resolution law. My goal will be to bring people together, rather than use the expensive, over-worked, and polarizing legal system. Although you're possibly the first person I've ever heard openly advocate the polarization of the world. Most people just act like they want that, rather than actually express that thought.

Sorry, I had to repost. You like the world polarized? You like the hatred and war and death that polarization causes? You like the inevitable result of radicalism of any type, which is more death? I voted for Bush for two reasons above all:
1) He won't try and mess with the economy through socialism
2) He is a uniter and a coalition builder, as evidenced by his work with Texas Democrats
I think the president is a good man, and he would not be in favor of radicalism and extremism in any form. And he definitely wouldn't favor division and polarization above all else.

Re. the one of the GI getting a hug; the old fellow in the foreground seems to be praising Allah for something that he might have been praying for for a long, long time;
Could it have been FREEDOM?
I would like to think of the Praises of many Faith Traditions blending with this old man's gratitude in a mighty, resonant spiritual chord of worship and thanks, pleasing to the ears of our Common Creator.
Do I hear an "Amen!", somebody?
Now Here's your theological question of the day;
When Allah is praised, does Christ take notice?
When a fervent, earnest, and rightous Prayer is lifted up in Jesus' precious Name, or in Hebrew at the Wailing Wall, or at a Shrine in Tibet... might "Allah" attend?
Just wondering.
Shalom.

That picture of the little girl waving the flag that would have gotten her beaten to death in all likelyhood the day before this picture was taken (April 7, according to another posting of it) is one for the History Books; Incredibly precious!
The "Free World" let these people down, and betrayed their sacred trust in 1991 for the sake of "politics", and "politics" nearly left them to their living purgatory again this time.
Shame on whoever betrays their trust again!
This poitrait alone should give light to the "Blood for Oil" lie; Yes, America; there ARE some things more precious than oil!
And it is for these sacred ideals of LIBERTY and JUSTICE under GOD that the blood of Freedom's Finest must, and is, and shall be shed.
My Daughter is not in the Military, but if she were, and God forbid was numbered among the slain, I would want to frame a picture of that little Iraqi girl to be displayed next to hers, to remind us that our Beloved's sacrifice had not been in vain.

I am in total agreement with you..in fact what we should do is forward that picture or the link of pictures from this page to embassies of ungrateful nation's like france and germany, bastards who have seem to forgot that the blood which was shed to provide those nations freedom and liberty was, in very great percentage, not even their own!!

This picture is going up on my Bush door in my office. What a delightful child. How Saddam could kill kids like this is way beyond me except that I know he's demon possessed. M

these folks way on the outskirts... how much contact did they ever have with the Ba'ath party?Most of these pictures are likely from Basrah and Najaf, judging by the clothing. These are Shiites, second only to the Kurds in "death by Saddam."
No, I don't believe these people will live happily ever after, but it seems that's the bar the anti-war folks have set up: "So, they're not be murdered anymore, what good does that do?" Gives them a chance, maybe, which is better than what they had before: none.
We're not looking for gratitude here, just the beginning of hope -- hope that they'll eventually create a society where less than half the population isn't obsessed with killing infidels.
