In statements to journalists, and an e-mail sent yesterday to supporters of his campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination, Kerry and his staff have used the occasion to highlight the senator's military record, attack his conservative Republican critics, and raise money.

"Please give me money because Mrs. Heinz is tight with her cash."

''Generally, I don't think that it's a good strategy to say stupid things and then figure out how to scramble out of it,'' Rothenberg said. ''They're trying to turn a lemon into lemonade by portraying this as Republicans-vs.-Kerry, or Bush-vs.-Kerry.''

BINGO!!!

I think Lehane (or his sister) was the guy behind that last minute DUI smear back in the 2000 election. BTW, whatever happened to that idiotic duckbill guy in Maine who was the front man on that smear?

Oh, of course lurch will make hay on GOP attacks on him. But the anti American scum, in whose eyes he will gain points, can only give him the rat nomination. If lurch is their man, his comments will cripple him in the general election.

Yeah, he was. Lehane was also the guy who called Katherine Harris a "Soviet commisar" back when Gore was trying to steal the 2000 election. Lehane's just a completely loathsome piece of garbage, makes Terry McAuliffe look like a good guy.
