https://saturn.he.net/~danger/secure/act101register.phpI need to reassure some nervous co-organizers. :o)
Can you get THEM to sign up online - ASAP - too? Finally, do you know of any "pro-USA" rallies and/or conservative group meetings in the next few weeks where you could print out a few of these "Activism 101" flyers, and pass them out?
If you download the Word document to a floppy (e-mail me for a copy) - and take it to your local Kinkos's (and ask politely) - they can print you one "master" copy of this flyer, and let you print the rest self service - in color! - for only eight cents each. (Fifty copes = only $4.)Thank you for helping to make this event a HUGE success.
Can we mail the fee?? If so, what is the mailing address?Joy: You have FReep-mail.
The REST of you: Yes, you can MAIL a check to me.Just send me a Private Reply, and I will send you my address.
O.K., gang. Here is a little something that you can share with the "been there, done that" crowd that you may encounter when promoting our "Activism 101" seminar on Saturday, April 26.
See: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/888679/posts
Here is MY answer to those who think that they already know WAY too much to need to go to a seminar about activism.
I was originally going to only send this as a private reply, but perhaps this is some good information here for EVERYONE to use.
The PRIMARY reason that we ALL need to be at this seminar, regardless of our past successes - is that we obviously have NOT - yet - been as successful as we need to be - at least here in California - where:
...the worst governor in recent memory just got re-elected,
...virtually ALL of the elected state officials will now CONTINUE to raise taxes, and to generate job-killing regulations,
...BOTH of our U.S. Senators and MOST of our U.S. Congressmen are still hard core "tax and spend" and anti-military,
...most of the local media (outside of talk radio and the Internet) is STILL more biased than Al Jazeera,
...MANY Hollywood activists have been promoting THEIR agenda MUCH MORE effectively than WE are,
...the "anti-war" crowd can get THOUSANDS of marchers, and we are lucky to get HUNDREDS.
Is "more of the same" really what you want?
Do you REALLY like what we have accomplished in California so far?
Whether your favorite cause is "supporting our troops," or defending the Second Amendment, or promoting "family values," or restraining the government from its insatiable desire to over-tax and mis-regulate, or fighting the left-wing media, or countering the corrupting influence of Hollywood "activists" - you must admit that we have not - yet - been as successful as we COULD be.
For what it is worth, ONE benefit of attending "Activism 101" would be to fix THIS problem:
"I don't see anyone else there lobbying for our cause."
THIS is one of the main skills that you would learn at "Activism 101" - how to motivate OTHERS to also do what you do.
I also consider myself fairly good at this stuff, having been a "hard core" activist for several years, and **I** need this seminar.
As many of you know, I recently co-ordinated the pro-USA rally at the Academy Awards (with a little help from my FRiends) - where we had over three hundred fired-up patriots "up close and personal" - right there in the "belly of the beast" - as a reasonably effective counter to the stories about Michael Moore. We got extensive national and INTERNATIONAL coverage on FOX TV, BBC, E! TV, USA Today, the Chicago Tribune, the Wall Street Journal - plus FOUR pictures on the international AP wire service, and a positive quote about OUR ideas in the extremely left-wing Los Angeles Times - directly across from a quote from two-time Oscar-winning Best Actress Nicole Kidman...
...and **I** need what they will be teaching at "Activism 101."
Also, Jill Hay, with the Republican Party of Los Angeles, will be attending this seminar, too. SHE says that with twenty years as an activist, SHE probably knows more than most of the instructors, but she wants to be there - to meet the kind of people who care enough to take time from their busy lives to learn how to do good, and prepare to be better than they now are.
And, local homeless activist (and "pro-USA" rally leader) Ted Hayes will speaking be at "Activism 101" to talk PRECISELY about how you generate passion, and how you can effectively COMMUNICATE that passion to those around you - to get THEM motivated to do what YOU do.
For what it's worth, THIS SEMINAR will form the foundation for virtually ALL of the activism in southern California for the next year.
And YOU need to be there.
If only to lead by example, and to get others that YOU know to join us.
And, you need to network with all the other "movers and shakers" in southern Caliornia activism - who will be there, too.
As a wise man once said, "You can light a candle, or you can curse the darkness."
If you do NOT attend this "Activism 101" seminar and your personal "activism" agenda next year - in WHATEVER area that interests you - is not as fulfilling as you would have wanted it to be, shame on you.
Personally, if I am going to take time away from my job, my friends and family - and from my life - to be active politically in ANY endeavor next year, I would like that investment of my precious time to have the GREATEST POSSIBLE effectiveness.
The instructors from the "Leadership Institute" can help ME to become more effective.
And perhaps they can help you.

PS - Please send me an e-mail, or register ONLINE - now! - for "Activism 101" at:
https://saturn.he.net/~danger/secure/act101register.php
PPS - I also REALLY do not have the time for an all-day seminar, nor the extra money to pay for it, but I will be there anyway. :o)
Where there is a will, there is a way.
If you REALLY care about "supporting our troops," and making this world a better place for your family, you WILL be there
