Got a favorite you wanna share ?
I would like to share a few that I remember.
Since I'm a Boomer (old fart to you "youngsters"), I was privileged to be born into a family that was able to buy a TV when it was first available. I remember sitting for HOURS, watching the following program on TV:
I would sit there for hours & hours, totally amazed!
Occasionally, my busha (Polish for Grandmother) would come into the room & change the channel, & I would watch
until my mother would come home! What GREAT fun & entertainment that was! I owe all that I am today to those early days! I can't believe what I have learned from those days!
I remember watching:
Pinky Lee Howdy Doody Kate Smith Milton Berle Ed Sullivan's "Show of Shows" What's my Line? Science Fiction Theater Winky Dink Watch Mr. Wizard Flash Gordon Gillete Cavalcade of Sports Sky King Roy Rogers & Dale Evans I love Lucy The People's Choice Mickey Mouse Club Queen for a Day Ding Dong School Dragnet Wrestling from Marigold (when wrestling WAS wrestling) & a bunch of others, too numerous to mention. I wish to share a few of these memories with you & I hope you will share your's with me!
Welcome to Camp RUN-A-MUK!
Todays Feature
(if you haven't guessed by now):
Favorite T V Programs!
Where the Plan Of the Day is: Mirth...Merriment...and FUN!
Kick back! Relax! Tell a joke or two! Have a brew ! The BAR is OPEN!
We've got Eye candy...Mind candy... & Chicken soup for the soul!
Here are a few of my "Favorite T V Programs"
Donna Reed Show
Howdy Doody!
Pinky Lee!
The theme song was as follows:
Yoo-hoo, it's me
My name is Pinky Lee
I skip and run with lots of fun
For every he and she.
It's plain to see
That you can tell it's me
With my checkered hat and my checkered coat
The funny giggle in my throat
My funny laugh like a billy goat.
That's it's whooooo
PINKY!
I bid you "WELCOME!"
Please join in, and share YOUR favorite TV programs with us at the Canteen!

I liked Donna Reid, too. I didn't know it then, but she was an Iowa native.
Also, Father Knows Best, Mickey Mouse Club, Dr. Welby MD, later it was American Band Stand.
My brother was the 'king of the TV',, we watched lots of cowboy stuff. Hop along Cassidy, Red Rider, Bonanza, Big Valley, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers.
Actually,,, I was more of a bookworm.

OMG, you really are an old fart :)

Oh, there you are.
I have to leave for work, running late as usual. I shall stop back in shortly. Growing up I was only allowed to watch an hour of tv per week. The rest of the time was spent playing board games or reading, but I did catch up on some of these shows thanks to re-runs.
Got to run. These are my absolute favorites in TV land.

You think that he is an old fart?
Remember this?
In the Everglades there's a way of life
It's a way of peace without stress or strife.
There's a fellow there who protects these rights
Lincoln Vale of the Everglades.
The man on patrol in the Everglades.
But they'll fight for rights and the homes they made
Simple grass roots people of the Everglades.
There's a natural danger and the man to face
Lincoln Vale of the Everglades.
The man on patrol in the Everglades.
Movin', ever movin' through the Everglades.
Movin', ever movin' through the Everglades.
Movin', ever movin'
Movin', ever movin' through the Everglades.

I watched them all. This is gonna date me, but I was watching the day Pinky Lee had his heart attack. The camera followed him around as he staggered and fell down. The camera zoomed in and then the screen went blank. It came back on a few minutes later with a cartoon. Live TV was really something.
Don't think I ever got fixed on the test pattern for too long though. LOL!!!

Morning, SC! Welcome to the Canteen!
Wow, I didn't see that program, when he had his heart attack, but, remembering how he used to jump & run around, I can see why the camera man probably thought that Pinky was just being Pinky!
I guess I'm not the ONLY old fart here! LOL!

A burka would be good. I would be happy to trade my business suits in. Would I need to wear panty hose under those?
Somehow, I just don't think the "hoity-toity's" I enteract with at work would take me seriously if I wore a burka.
To: Iowa Granny
You don have to wear ANYTHING under a burka, if you don't want to! I don't!
