Fox says they're high level - one is a Field Marshall. They are going to discuss setting up police forces to contain the looting.

Bump. Have been watching this too (in a TV tuner card window, I'm loving this). Pretty interesting looking. They just ID'd one of the guys as a Field Marshall.
To: BenLurkin
No, they're all walking calmly, marines are escorting, no trouble, tons of press
To: Aeronaut
I hope they hammer home to these thugs that policing means "Protect and Defend," not "Despoil and Pillage."

No Ba'ath's in the police. That should be non-negotiable.

Wonder which (or if)these dudes made it on the deck of cards

"The Saturday barbecue at the Palistine Hotel Poolside will be "Roasted Baath Belly".

Maybe they will surrender, and name people and places in exchange for their lives.
To: Indy Pendance
Looks like one of them is a Field Marshal from Baghdad police. Amar-Al-Saida was his name.

An ABC reporter was heard to shout:
"Do you think the recount in Florida should have been stopped?"
To: BubbaJunebug
What's interesting too, is they are in their uniforms. A perfect reason for our Army to get rid of the berets, the baath party wears them.

No Ba'ath's? Do you want Iraq to be like France?
To: fiefdomone
Thanks, I heard it but didn't really catch it. It's not like we're fighting Tom, Larry, or Mark...
To: FreedomPoster
As long as they're in Ba'ath uniforms and those jaunty berets, they should be taken into custody. The LAST thing that country needs is it's thuggish enforcers coming back again.

Looks like Fox caught Tony Snow in his PJ's
To: Indy Pendance
Pretty neat too...MSNBC reporting the military has found Saddam son Uday's personal ammo stash in a private home in Baghdad.
As for these Baath party officials being escorted to the Palestine, they might be officials already well known to the US. Remember those guys we were emailing back and forth with before the war?
Tony Snow is cautioning over-optimism about people thinking these officers might know where Saddam is. He's right...it's best not to get excited about good news, too soon. It's bound to change.
