An absolutely fantastic interview with one of the smartest people on the planet.

I really hope everyone hears this part loud and clear:

I think it is a great mistake to believe that, now this war will soon be over, we must launch some initiative in respect to the Israelis and the Palestinians in a way that suggests we have done damage in the Arab world and now we need to repair that damage by some act of contrition in support of the peace process. There are very good reasons for supporting the peace process but contrition is not one of them. The sense that we somehow owe this to the Arab world only diminishes the essential truth about what we’ve done in Iraq. We have not damaged Arab interests. We have advanced them by freeing 25 million people from this brutal dictatorship.

I certainly hope that this message gets out regarding Israel. So many are willing to compromise Israel just for political correctness. Israel is a democracy and a good friend to the US, but despite that fact the "press" continues to report Israeli/Palestinian news in a skewed way. For example:

BIG HEADLINE: Israeli troops kill 2 Palestinians in shooting in Gaza.

Teeney print below: After Palestinian suicide bomber kills 14 Israelis.

I always found it interesting (i.e. infuriating) that it wasn't reported the other way around.

The French I know must be appalled at being associated with Saddam Hussein.

Not yet, but the next year will unveil one atrocity after another. We can practically marry Chirac and Hussein for the purposes of PR and implicate Chirac, DeVillepin et al as champions of one of the most brutal regimes in history.

Here's another expose on another of Saddam's torture chambers. Here's Chirac or some other greasy French official defending Saddam. Here's an Iraqi mother crying after finding her son's remains. Here's another WMD. Here's evidence of another French company supplying the raw materials. etc.....

Chirac and his cronies have NO CHOICE but to go on the attack against America. They know what's coming.

I've admired Perle for years. He is the warrior's Newt Gingrich, the intellectual underpinning. Thanks for posting the article.

The Road Map to Peace in Israel runs right over the terrorist training camps. We will destroy them all as we destroyed them in Iraq (at least three that I have heard are.) We will destroy them in Syria, in the Beka valley in Lebanon, Libya, Somolia, the Sudan, Indonesia, Philippines, Iran and any other hole they raise their heads.

Peoples in those countries will owe us one of the greatest thanks ever said.

Was this a recent, telephone interview? I have it on Mark Steyn's authority that Perle was otherwise engaged immediately prior to the publication date:

Mark Steyn - Welcome to Anglo-Saxon reality

Well, this whole quagmire seems to be getting worse, eh? I see the Yanks have now been reduced to staging fake scenes of supposed jubilation on the alleged streets of what the Pentagon assures us is Baghdad. If you pause the video, you'll see the guy on the right jumping up and down thwacking his shoe on the head of Saddam's toppled statue is actually Richard Perle disguised as an Iraqi cab driver and the woman standing next to him ululating "Blessings be upon you, o great Bush" is David Frum in a chador.
