Back when we didn't have health insurance, had only one income and were pretty doggone poor, we bought our own birth control.
Although I don't understand why your insurance wouldn't cover it - contraceptives are cheaper than prenatal care and a lot cheaper than pregnancy and birth if there are any complications.

In 1974, I was VERY PRO-abortion. You couldn't FIND anyone more PRO-abortion! But I changed my views 180 degrees, LITERALLY OVERNIGHT!
In a Radio-TV-Film class in college, I had to do a simulated radio broadcast on a controversial topic. I picked abortion, thinking it would be a piece of cake. I planned to put what I then thought were "those right-wing-religious nuts" to shame!
We were REQUIRED to present an HONEST, FAIR view of both sides of the issue. That REQUIRED us to do an HONEST, FAIR INVESTIGATION of both sides first!
I knew the PRO-abortion side inside and out, but for the life of me, I could not imagine WHY the pro-life side could possibly oppose a woman's RIGHT to "control her own body."
Afterall, we were told back then, "It's just a mass of tissue."
We NOW KNOW---and NO ONE CAN DENY---that that is NOT true!

(1) Is "it" alive?
Whatever you want to call "it"---is "it" biologically alive?
The answer is UNDENIABLE!---"It" IS alive! "It" IS growing!
In fact, in a mere 18 to 24 days after conception, "it" ALREADY has its OWN HEARTBEAT...and can even have a different BLOOD-TYPE from its mother!!!

(2) In nine months, will a cat, dog, zebra, elephant---or HUMAN BABY---come out, if not aborted or miscarried? I.e. does it have cat, dog, zebra, elephant---or HUMAN---DNA?
Again, the answer is UNDENIABLE! If allowed to reach full term, a HUMAN BABY will come out---and it will have HUMAN DNA!

(3) Would PETA think it was okay to reach inside the uterus of a pregnant dog and literally rip off the legs of the pre-born puppy and crush the pre-born puppy's skull---OR would they be DEMANDING that that person be imprisoned?
Once again, the answer is UNDENIABLE! PETA would be RUSHING to have that person IMPRISIONED!!!

...then WHY do we allow it to be done to HUMAN BABYS???

WATCHME, I challenge you (and all reading this post) to do an HONEST, FAIR INVESTIGATION of WHAT the pro-lifers believe and WHY they believe it.
WATCH the videos, LOOK AT the photos of aborted BABYS, LOOK AT the 3-D sonograms of LIVE PRE-BORN BABIES, READ the stories of what expectant mothers were told then and what they KNOW NOW.
If you do as I have challenged you to do, I would not be surprised to hear that you, too, will change your mind to becoming pro-life as I did. If you do change your mind, please let me know.
BTW, I am the mother of a severely mentally and physically disabled 23 year old daughter, who does not walk or talk, who wears diapers and does not feed herself, and who has a very rare type of dwarfism, but who is VERY loving and LOVES to go in the car/bus/plane/train and "walk in the water" on the steps in a swimming pool.
