It's just so sad that most of our young are just the opposite as these guys. But, what I want to know is: are these guys just naturally good or does the military instill these wonderful traits? I don't think "most" is a fair characterization. "Too many", yes indeed, but not most. Why I'm not sure, given the influences they've had in school and in many cases parents from the tail end of the baby boomers, who were the most messed up of the lot. Be that as it may, my own experience with kids of about the same ages, (late teens to twenty somethings) have been mostly positive.

Marine Times April 12, 2003.
War in Iraq - Saddam Tumbles...
excerpt:
Gen Mattis said it could take months to clear Bagdad of a "few crazies" from other nations.
"They are armed and dangerous, but they are about as worthless a fighting force as Marines have ever encountered," Mattis said. "They have no courage. We have been in houses today where the enemy surrendered, and women and children were cowering in the corners. They hide behind women and children. They really lack manhood."
Ouch! Wonder what the General REALLY thinks :) Gotta love this guy!

these Marine Generals are too cool. Guess they're trying to be sure they don't get stuck at the Pentagon - can you imagine these guys having to go through a Tact & Diplomacy Course?? :)

These guys are with Golf company, Rick Leventhal was with Fox and Echo company most of the time. He was briefly with Golf when the UN in Baghdad was being looted.
