You really should listen a few times. Once you get past the self congratulatory bombast (it's part of his spiel, sort of self deprecating humor in reverse, and is amusing once you get used to it) he's really very articulate and perceptive, and he does often move liberal callers to the front.

The requirement is that they have a point, can express it clearly and with civility, and not retreat to personal insults when Rush hands them their head on a platter, which almost invariably is what happens to even the best of them. He's as popular as he is for a reason.

In fairness, Rush uses call screeners who filter out non-dittos as well.

The only people Rush's screeners filter out are the ones that will bomb on the air, such as the speechmakers with their moldy old DNC talking points that drone on and on. Who wants to listen to some self-important schlub deliver a canned speech with all the passion of an NPR newsreader? Liberals are often allowed on Rush's show, provided they can make a compelling (read, entertaining) call.

As far as the DU stuff getting yanked, Jim Rob has said repeatedly that if you want to go play in the DU septic tank that is fine, just don't start stinking FR up with their sludge. Since Jim Rob owns this site, he gets to make the rules.

She did call several months ago. While Rush was friendly and welcoming, Rita was so far gone in leftist hatred that it wasn't even fun listening to her. No talk of the mother ship. No mention of the chief joints of staff. I guess the Republican sweep in the last couple of elections completely sent her over the edge.

You are correct. Even a deluded fool like Rachel Corrie did not deserve to die like that even though it was mostly her fault. However her situation was slightly different than Kelly's. Corrie was an anti-American stooge for the terrorists and a promulgator of hatred towards Israel. But I do not want to see even fools like Corrie die, I want them to see the light. She was a young, extremely gullible American who went into a dangerous area without knowing the cost of her fanaticism. She never had the chance to learn how wrong she was and how much her life was wasted.
