There is a Mr. Right somewhere, Lilylangtree--and he will be worth waiting for!!!!

Conservative men (like my hubby) are the kind who will open doors for you, send you flowers on your birthday, and hold you in the highest esteem as a wife, mother and/or career woman.

Just keep an open mind about "Mr. Right"--he's likely to be that quiet, modest someone that most women overlook. I literally tripped over hubby by accident at work, We had worked in the same building for five years, and had never run into each other until one particular day. I always had a rule to never date someone from work and I broke the rule just ONE TIME. Lucky for me hubby thought I was worth chasing after--LOL!

Man, I'm glad I'm out of all that....this thread is a wee bit depressing.

However when I was young, I didn't care so much about their politics if they were hot. It was all hormones..lol

BUT....once you get into child rearing and the economics of the home place and just plain get older, politics become pivotal. I don't know how a diametrically opposed couple does it unless they are somewhat ambivalent.

Join active Christian organizations. You'll meet like minded women.

Unforunately, too many of these have become modern versions of meat markets. One of our ministers associated with family matters is saddened but openly admits this. A friend who went through a divorce serveral years ago bragged that if he wanted action, he got involved with the single women in church settings.

Sad but true.

The actual caption to Heidi Klum's image was "no rest for the wicked", NOT "liberalism is for girls".

I agree with "no rest for the wicked".

Why did you spin it in the opposite direction?

My wife was an unconscious go with the flow liberal Madonna fan. She had no idea that there was anything else for her to be. She just accepted the line that you were a caring liberal or an evil jerk. She was not overly political though. Slowly over the years the scales began to fall from her eyes. I like to think I helped a little but they all have to make it to the truth on their own.
Now she's and evil Clear Channel employee! Ha Ha.

Well, they can't "officially" date. I'm sure they certainly do so behind my back.

You and Me both, it seems. As a conservative male with strong values, it is sometimes difficult not only finding a lovely lass of similar values, but fending off the advances of those who seem intent on impressing themselves upon Me who I simply do not desire to be with because of their lack of values, among other things.

and if you are working on a laptop in your bathtub you would issue a "blupe" or "bloop", either one is acceptable...

Nope. That's a textbook ZOT!

Whatever you do DON'T go to South Florida. The Jewish girls down in places like Boca Raton (the ones who aren't on life support) are not merely liberal, but dumb as a box of rocks as well. Too much sun and bad food is bad for the brain, which is why I couldn't wait to get out during my two stints down there.

Thanks for the warning. South Florida has precious little appeal to me - too crowded, too expensive, too hot. The northern Keys were nice, but I haven't been there in 20 years, so I don't know if that still applies. Ah well, the game goes on.

Speaking of dirty looks, I'm learning fiddle...

There's an easy way to avoid that:

Play near the bagpipers.

Forrester was pro-choice, women instead rejected him for his pro-gun and pro-drilling stance.

Why on earth would you consider marrying a woman who was anti-drilling...?

Oh, you meant for oil.

Same problem.

Interesting.

Out here, the advice about keeping your mouth shut would be better for liberal guys. My university is packed with right-wingers. Heck, one of the girls I sit with at lunch loves to say all the time that "women are idiots." Unfortunately, this gem is taken.

As for rule 4...is he saying some girls "google" to see what guys write online? Wow...
