NPR: TELL THE TRUTH!
http://www.standwithus.org/ ^ | 04-16-2003 | http://www.standwithus.org/

Friends of Israel will be holding "NPR: Tell the Truth" demonstrations of protest outside National Public Radio (NPR) affiliate stations from coast to coast on Wednesday, May 14, 2003, to express outrage over NPR's biased coverage of the Middle East.

Each "NPR: Tell the Truth" demonstration is being organized locally by Jews and Christians who believe that NPR's reporting on the Middle East is so inaccurate and biased that it poses a threat to Israel's security. The idea originated with the Boston Israel Action Committee (BIAC), a group that draws its membership from several Boston-area synagogues.

Demonstrations are being organized in: Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Des Moines, Denver, Detroit, Fairfield (CT), Fresno, Houston, Indianapolis, Hartford, Los Angeles, Long Island, Miami, Milwaukee, Nashville, Newark, New Haven, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Portland (OR), Rochester (NY), St. Louis, St. Paul, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, DC.

We hope that many more communities will organize demonstrations. This is a unique opportunity to shine a spotlight on the inaccurate and biased coverage of the Israel on NPR. In the context of demonstrations being planned in more than 30 cities from coast to coast, even small demonstrations held outside NPR stations on May 14 will receive significant coverage from newspapers, radio, and television stations as the local angle on a significant national story.

Information on how to organize a demonstration is posted on www.JAT-action.org or contact the organizers at protest@jat-action.org

There are so many instances of leftist bias at NPR that it is difficult to name just a few. You really should try to listen to it sometime and you will hear for yourself.
Here is a website to help you get started but there are many more:

I went to the above referenced website, www.standwithus.org to get on their email list because I believe in this cause and wanted to be kept up to date on these protests. You have to register to get on their email list, however there is a 65.00 registration fee. Not a smart thing to do if you really want to get your word out. I did not register.

To get a job at NPR you have to show up for the interview with both shoes on your left foot. 'There can be nothing on the right'

I did not pay to register. I belong to the campus org and that may be the difference.

I will back track and see where I did register and let you know.
..I am an old guy (50), but I attend classes at the University of Central Florida so I signed up as a student and there is no issue.

Last Sunday morning I was desperate for some news while driving. I turned to NPR.
I swear, if I hadn't been following the war I would not have thought it was going well.
Every story I heard was of a small sad incident that tarnished the overall effort.
One story I remember was an interview with a man whose store had been looted.
While those stories are part of the overall picture, that is all they cover.

I also recall a story several months ago of Israel driving their military into the West Bank in retaliation to a Palestinian atrocity. NPR, of course, had the chronology backwards. The uninformed listener would have summized that the atrocity was in retaliation for the Israeli incursion.

That's about the extent of my NPR listening. It's so slanted I can't take but small doses.
