I can read and comprehend Jim Robinson's posts.
I'm a conservative and always have been; live with it.

There is nothing worse than finding your parent dead. It's something that stays with you all your life. Prayers for this child. My grandfather died when my father was 10. He came home from work, complained of not feeling well, and went to take a nap. My father's older sister (and her daddy's favorite girl) went to wake him up for supper and found him dead of a massive heart attack. It was 1934 and there was nothing anybody could have done anyway, but it was still awful. She never forgot it.
I've never agreed with the Senator much, but this is a tragedy that I wouldn't wish on anyone. Prayers for him and his whole family.

"I haven't made ANY anti-gun statements."I guess that's an invition for me to dig up some of the more egregious examples of your anti-gun statements.

Love that! So, so true! I'm going to make an effort to remember that for future use. Your Grandmother was a very wise person.

What decency there is in that bunch is mostly with the "Southrun Dems." Some of them didn't have much of a choice when they started out. Born in say Illinois, he coulda been a contenda.

For someone who doesn't care, why are most of the responses on this thread written by you, or about you? This is a particularly odd thread to just hang around and be rude in.

If you consider somebody such as Marysecretary asking why anybody would need an assualt weapon an "anti-gun" statement, I can see how you can twist just about anything anybody who doesn't agree with you says into something to suit your agenda.

I took the bait on your slam at mary when I shouldn't have; this thread isn't about that, which was my original point; I'm done now. You can carry on with your vendetta if you want to.

"That remark wasn't necessary. You don't have a clue as to what he does with or for his family. You sound like a democrat."
Helllloooo! Fritz Hollings is the one who is a Democrat! If I was a Democrat, would I have made the comment you seem to have so much trouble with? Get your facts straight will you?

Please. It doesn't say that some jerkwad living next door to me can own lethal weapons.
I have plenty of friends who are IN the NRA and have a lot of guns; none of them want or need an assault weapon.
And we never had your vote anyway.

I said you SOUND like a democrat, not that you are one. Those are the kinds of comments I would expect from the libs, not someone here on a conservative discussion group. It doesn't matter if Hollings is a democrat. He's suffered a great loss, several in fact. Have some compassion.

"Those are the kinds of comments I would expect from the libs, not someone here on a conservative discussion group."
Why? Because I said he apparently felt the job in Washington, D.C. was more important to him than spending time with his family? Freedom of speech rules doesn't it?

Yes, it does rule, but his attitude about someone's misfortune stinks.

And just where is my anti-gun statement in that post?
And since you're obviously not familiar with the informal rules around here, it's considered bad form NOT to ping the person you're talking about.

I am sorry for his grandchild but I will shed no tears for the Senator. He is a mean-spirited, nasty man. Let's not forget how he treated Senator Tower. Let's not forget how disrespectfully he treated his opponents over the years. Hollings is cheap shot, con artist.
