Don't you feel proud of our President and the military? For the first time in a looooong time we are getting some respect. Now, Syria proposes talks on WMD and North Korea too. This wasn't the case during the Clinton administration. I sure do feel proud of President Bush, and the Troops ! Thanks !! Looks like the world sees U.S. as carrying a BIG STICK again !

"We have let Syria know of our concerns. But there is no list, there is no war plan right now to go attack someone else, either for the purpose of overthrowing their leadership or for the purpose of imposing democratic values." But TOMORROW.......................

Speaking on behalf of a number of USA citizens, I am not even close to being "appeased" yet. Well, it *IS* worth noting that since 9/11 the governments of two entire Middle Eastern nations have fallen. And who's to say how many tens of thousands have been absolutely slaughtered.
I've always been pretty darned bloodthirsty, and never moreso than after 9/11 when I saw images of Palestenians partying in the street, but I really think if we actually saw all the dead bodies stacked up we'd feel like we've quite literally collected our "pound of flesh" for 9/11.
I guess we could kill the whole world, but somehow that just doesn't seem attractive(?)

Clinton himself was a "weapon of mass destruction" with respect to the effect he had on this country. He might as well have aimed a nuke at its heart and pushed the red button . . . he and his immoral and evil ilk are responsible for most of the problems this country is faced with today, including the problem with Iraq, North Korea, Syria, China, and the lack of respect we now have from France, Russia, Canada, the list goes on. May he rot in hell! This needs to be said more often; else Clinton2 takes over in 2004/2008.....

I guess we could kill the whole world, but somehow that just doesn't seem attractive(?) The Christian in me says no that wouldn't work. The American in me says that that would solve a whole ton of problems and free up a whole ton of resources.
Fortunately for the world the Christian always wins out.

I must be reading this wrong. How can you respond when it says you're gone? I'm so confused.

Syrian response: "Rut-row."

We now have a large aircraft carrier to the east of Syria.
Must be pretty far to the east then.

No, they were referring to the unsinkable aircraft carrier that is Iraq.
Sorry, "New Texas".

Who said anything about killing the whole world?
I do support killing the part of it that has openly declared war on me, and those who call for my death.
I believe I AM the USA.The United States of America consists of millions of people who live in various states and elect our own government. The government of the USA is not an alien entity, it is made up of people who were elected by people just like me.Now I dont care for many of those in government office, but I do have the chance to peacefully purge them on a somewhat regular basis.Sometimes the majority agree with me, sometimes not.
None who daily chant "death to the USA" have ever said "except for sarasmom"
Even if they did,it would not matter to me.I dont live life as a victim or in a vacumn, and I dont let thugs freely threaten my neighbors.
Peace is often achieved through superior strength in the real world.I prefer to have superior strength as a tool, and I have no problem with using that tool when the situation warrants.
I am not willing to die to please a self declared enemy. Are you?

Something my daughter suggested we rename Iraq.
Just a little joke.
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
I had to drop the original draft of "peace through superior firepower", because I also had a long rant about detterant/deterent/deterant threat going, but I could not find my dictionary and I have yet to find a way to add spell checker...
I am also trying to utilise rusty diplomacy skills, and I figured many non-veterans would not understand the context, if I said "kill them all, and let God sort it out" or "nuke them till they glow, then send in a rookie sniper" were meant to be compassionate, life affirming comments.
It is very sad that a whole bunch of citizens of the USA do not realise the DOD exists in order to function on our behalf to keep the peace, and in case of need, to kill people and break things, untill a declared enemy stops desiring to kill US more than they wish to survive.
I guess I should not be shocked, since I once worked at a TV station and was revolted by the behavior of callers who were enraged that soap operas were interrupted by a city wide temporary power outage.
Sigh.

I do support killing the part of it that has openly declared war on me, and those who call for my death. And what if, in our supreme effort to avoid casualties on our own side, nine of of every ten people we kill harbored no ill will at all for America, and perhaps even harbored good will towards sarasmom?
It's not a big jump to extrapolate advances in technology as someday enabling any person in any country to kill everyone in another country by simply pushing a button. Do you realize that the day that technology comes into existance we'll all rush insanely to push our respective buttons, and that we'll all perish instantly?
And if we don't rush to push those buttons, but suddenly find it within ourselves to learn to live together peacefully, all previous generations (that's you and me) will be exposed as cowards and, worse, hypocrits.
That's no legacy to leave our kids.
