Am I reading this correctly? Are we
still paying "Economic Aid" to Russia? From:
http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/fields/2064.html it would appear that the 2000 estimate was $5.6 Billion with a B. Am I confused about who paid this? Was this was American Tax Dollars At Work? Or is this worldwide aid or something? (Please tell me were not fighting against our own tax dollars in Iraq!)
Hmmm. Confusion reigns. Senator Joe Biden seems pretty proud of his Tax Money for Reds plan. At least that what his Biden Introduces Legislation to Support Russian Democracy web page seems to say. (In 1999 he was senior Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee) and he seems to be looking after Russian interests to the tune of $30 million taxpayer dollars. So tell us Joe, was any of that money at work in Iraq?
Well, I guess thats not the whole picture either. "Last year, nearly $5 billion of IMF aid to Russia disappeared in offshore accounts set up by Russia's own central bank." according to the minutes of the Committee on Banking and Financial Services meeting Thursday, June 10, 1999 U.S. House of Representatives. And the IMF gets the money,
where? Yeah thats what I was afraid of.
Let me see if I got the math right. 250 million folks in the US. Maybe half pay taxes. So we get $5.6 billion divided by 125 million for an average of $44.50 per taxpayer. (gee, government math is tough with all those zeros to count) So I sent half a Ben Franklin to Vlad to help him help Saddam build a Childrens Prison? Zat right? No, it cant be. Im one of those dreaded Rich People that pay 96% of the taxes. So 10% of the country REALLY paid the money. So my share is more like $224.00. Two Ben Franklins, two Andy Jacksons, an Abe Lincoln, and I get four quarters in change. And I didn't even get a lousy T Shirt?!

russia IS the enemy.
BUT bush was not"fooled" per se.
We just aren't ready to back them down till we defuse all their little puppet state proxy warriors...
FRANCE is in it with them.
WAR with France by Year's End...
The cold war NEVER ended. IT just went underground to adopt terrorist activities against us through the likes of PLO, Hamas, Kim Jong Nuke, PETA and ELO...
It is their version of guerilla warfare against the United States...
We will bury them... or their crystaline ashes.
PUTIN is NOT to be trusted.
Russia has helped the worldwide terrorist assoctiation in their spying, espionage and terrorist attacks against Western Civilization.
France has thrown in with the worldwide socialists of terror and fascism along with Russia, Syria, NK, Iran, Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, most of the African and South American Continents and China... in their collective desperation to "counterbalance" the English speaking HEGEMONY of power...
screw them all... they are the supporters of terrorism and evil the world over...
BUSH knows it... But does Powell? and if Powell does NOT know it, why does Bush keep him in place? He cannot truly be that stupid (Powell that is). I don't think Bush is fooled.
I think we are still afraid of their nukes... til the shield is in place that is.

What makes you so sure President Bush was fooled? Just because they rode around in a pick-up?

". . . training was for nonmilitary purposes, such as fighting crime and terrorism."
If anyone believes that, then there's the Brooklyn Bridge in NY for sale.
