Fed's attack Texas church and burn it to the ground.....
PBS - WGBH/Frontline ^ | 1995 | PBS

Posted on 04/19/2003 2:05:26 PM PDT by ASTM366

As I do each year, I post information to commemorate the attack by FBI agents in military vehicles on the Branch Davidians compound near Waco, Texas on April 19, 1993.

The Branch Davidians, a reclusive group of Christian believers, had been attacked 51 days earlier by over 100 heavily armed BATF agents, surrounded and subjected to psychological warfare techniques by government agents. On April 19th the feds sent in military vehicles to fill the building at the Branch Davidian compound with chemical agents to flush out the remaining occupants. What resulted was a fire that burned to death nearly all the occupants; INNOCENT men, women, children and infants. Some committed suicide by self inflicted gunshot.

To this day the federal government has never accepted responsibility for the events of 1993, nor have they apologized for their ugly and glaring display of unchecked power.

In a tragic and spectacular act of revenge, Timothy McVeigh and his associates carbombed the offices of the BATF and FBI in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995.

P.S. The Feds lost any claim to a charge of murder when they fired on the Davidians first.

That was also proved at trial.

Those BATF goons deserved every round they got, and more.

...these guys were NOT christians..."
I never claimed they were Christians. No matter what they believed, they were human beings living in a nation ruled by law and their rights were violated with extreme prejudice. Are you tryign to rationalize away their demise by saying they ween't Christians?

"All the claims I have made have been proven over and over again..."
Are trying to be funny here? You have prove nothing! NOTHING! You've provided one paltry link which mentioned nothing which you claimed it should have mentioned. That's not proof! Waht about the "they shot their own women and children" cr*p?

"They were violent criminals..."
Exactly what, pray tell, were they guilty or charged with prior to the military ambush that began the mess? Source please! Remember, ALL of the weap[ons found there wee shown to be legal! We all await your well-sourced reply.

A song (some words changed)comes to mind reading your effluvium...
"your balogna has a first name
it's b-o-v-i-n-e
Your balogna has a second name
its p-o-o-o-p
You love to spew it every way
and if we ask you why you'll say...

Vernnon Howel was dangerous cause the BATF screwed up.
Instead of doing law enforcement they were doing Lawlessness. There was a stake out accross the road and Vernon did goto town. It was show.

"...unless you've lived in or around Waco, you don't know the Davidians. I lived in Waco and 15 miles from Waco. There was trouble at their "compound" every weekend."

Ditto that. I was a freshman at Baylor in Waco at the time. I'll never forget hearing about the Davidians during the first week of my New Testament class that January. My instructor told us about this group of people who had come from California and settled outside of town because they felt that when Jesus returned, it would be to Waco (of all places!). Don't you know that a room full of college kids thought that was hilarious! Then, of course, it was just the next month when the initial raid took place. We were certainly buzzing with surprise and interest to see Waco make the national news. Supposedly, the Davidians were tipped off by John McLemore, a reporter from our local CBS affiliate, KWTX (he seemed to disappear from the face of the earth shortly thereafter, as you can imagine). As you said, N8VTXNinWV, we were always hearing about the goings-on at the compound, long before the national media picked up the story (I can't tell you how many times the local news broke into 'Days of Our Lives' to bring us the latest from Mt. Carmel...very frustrating to a college girl at the time. lol). After the initial raid, lots of us drove out there to see what the heck was going on. Before long, though, everything was blocked off so that we nosy spectators could no longer get close enough to see anything. I'll never forget watching the fire 10 years ago today. I sat in my best friend's room down the hall and we were just transfixed by the scene. We didn't cry, we were just shocked. We had certainly heard about this self-appointed messiah who had multiple wives and lovers, including young girls. We knew about the stockpiled weapons, and the pledges to die for Koresh, rather than leave the compound. No, we didn't cry. We were just angered by Koresh and stunned over the needless tragedy. It didn't occur to me then to be angry at the government; I was just disgusted at David Koresh's perversion of Christ.

"you are comparing our founding fathers to cop killers"

Do us all a favour and stick to the topic of the discussion and back up your statements with facts (something where you are seriously lacking). From the posts above you can see that I am not the only one noticing this troubling occurrence. If you just want to rant feel free to do it someplace else and spare us the time to reply.

"And, as was widely reported, Koresch left the "compound" to go into town on a regular basis"

Anecdotal, hearsay, and without proof. Repeated conjecture by the conspiro-loon crowd.

It is anecdotal, hearsay, without proof & a repeated conjecture by the conspiro-loon _jim style crowd that Koresch did NOT leave the "compound" to go into town on a regular basis.

Common sense tells us he did.

I didn't say it, the Jury in Texas did.

They found the Davidians 'not guilty' of the charge of murder finding that killing those goons was a clearcut case of justifiable homicide under Texas and Federal Law. (See US v. Cruikshank)

Here are the facts.

The Feds didn't have a warrant when they 'raided' the Davidians home.

The Feds fired first. They admitted this at trial.

Now, you don't have to like it, and I don't give a rats ass if you do or not, but anyone coming onto your property firing automatic weapons at you without benefit of a duly constituted warrant is a thug who deserves to meet a rapid and violent death.

Whether or not they have a badge is irrelavent and immaterial. The Supreme Court has already decided the issue, and the Jury in Texas felt the same way I do.

Are they a 'threat to the nation'?

No, ignorant fools like you who don't know the facts of the case are a greater threat to this nation than those poor bastards who roasted to death could ever hope to be.

Deal with it.

Actually, shooting police that are using illegal force to arrest you is PERFECTLY legal, per Texas statute.

The FBI lied to the American public when it denied using pyrotechnic devices

At WORST an oversight.

SINCE this pyrotechnice device was fired AWAY from the wooden building there was no harm - NO FOUL.

Thanks, but no thanks for your - and michael "TRAITOR" (he was banned from this board don't you know) rivero for this misleading presentation of legitimate information ...

And THANKS for allowing me to slam rivero once again ...

Out of control federal law enforcement agencies enforcing unconstitutional fiat prohibitions on arms are a direct threat to our free republic.

Why do you defend their actions?

The story didn't wash

Of course, not.

Your information sources are fouled - watching propaganda like McNutty's films can do that to you.

The film "Waco: The Rules of Engagement" -

Directed by William Gazecki

And featuring the journalistic labors of:

Dan Gifford, formerly of CNN and the "MacNeil-Lehrer NewsHour,"

- and his wife Amy, who was a producer of "A Current Affair,"

Fact: The cult had assembled a massive arsenal of weapons many of which were illegal...

Why don't you and your obstructionist pal Chucky Schumer give us just one incidence of an illegal weapon that was found?

I've been waiting ten years for the first illegal weapon to surface. This was the whole basis of the raid....was it not?

Janet Reno exhibited far more concern for Elián González than she did for the children in that compound

With the intent being to 'flush' the people from the compound - woman hopefully shielding their children from the gas - was this not a half-bad plan?

Most people would have seeked fresh air - out of the compound.

But, not so with this group - THEY donned gas masks UNDER the direction of Vernon Wayne Howell AKA "David Death" instead!
