The left loves lies. Take, for example, Rigoberta Menchu, whose "autobiography" detailing her sufferings as an "indigenous woman in Guatemala" won the Nobel Prize and was later determined to be false. Or Tawana Brawley and Al Sharpton, who were of course total liars who destroyed several lives, but were the darlings of the left because, as one of their supporters said, it wasn't true - but the point was, it could have been true.

The book that claimed that the US launched a cruise missle painted to look like a plane into the Pentagon on 9/11/2001 (and that the plane never crashed) was a best seller in France (in fact the author issued 2 books to argue his case).

Doesn't mean that he was right, just that there was a substantial base that hated America and was willing to accept a lie to support their worldview.

I wish folks would quit giving this fat slob any attention.

Unfortunately the fact is that he gets a lot of attention, especially from people in their teens and twenties. I frequent some other boards, mostly related to music, and the dominant theme is that Michael Moore is a genius and everything he says is the gospel. I think the best we can do is give factual rebuttals such as this article and gradually try to get people to understand what he really is.

Perhaps the Academy is beyond any realistic redemption, but maybe Mel Gibson's production company is not beyond waking up to the fact that Michael Moore is an out and out fraud. It should be put to them that backing Moore's upcoming anti-Bush smear flic would be a very bad move. What say we do an organized email freep, drawing attention to this article and others? The point being, Moore engages in very dangerous activities, in the sense of provoking libel suits, that Gibson's company would be well advised to steer clear of. Has the email address of Gibson's company been published here? Who knows more about this, I would like to know? What do fellow Freepers think? Would this effort worth the time and trouble?

The last movie I went to was last summer. The last baseball game I attended was last Sunday April 13, 2003. I DIDN'T see the movie "Bowling for Columbine". Never did.....Never will!! I only watch movies of good quality or any so-so or better science fiction film. {;->}

You missed part of the point. They put this film under the category "Documentary", thus falsly portraying this film as "FACT", and therefore misleading the audience that this was a "mockumentary" in reality. So this was an attempt to deceive the American People through the use of the format "Documentary" which EVEN Hollyweird admits must be "FACTUAL' NOT A MOCKUMENTARY! It also deprived the second-place winner the prize of 1st place which I assume WAS a true "Documentary".

Conclusion

I doubt that many here saw the garbage or are even thinking about it. As soon as it came out of hollywood I knew it was going to be typical socialist crap. You think the academy of self adulation actually gives a rip about accuracy in documentary?

The real humor in all of this is that Moore probably now considers himself an "insider" while all the time the beautiful people are laughing behind his fat slovenly back while he orders Boonesfarm wine at his favorite swanky restaurant......
