If Hong Kong can put this back in its box, after as many cases as they had, then the rest of the developed world can too. That would mean the developed world can beat SARS.
The rest of China is another story. Likewise for the slums of Calcutta, or Mexico City.

Overnight, per loin brought up the monkey vector point...monkeys as I understand it are common in India (and elsewhere) and per loin said that they freely interact with humans.
Monkeys can be infected with the virus and have the same illness AND spread it just as humans do, at least in the lab.
That's why per loin asked in another post what the primate population is...iirc.

How would we keep SARS from crossing the border and spreading across the entire country if any part of Mexico is infected?
