In a candid, exclusive interview, Diane Sawyer talks with the Dixie Chicks -- Natalie Maines, Emily Erwin and Martie Seidel -- who finally speak out about controversial comments regarding President Bush and the war with Iraq, made last month during a London concert, that have resulted in a firestorm of negative publicity.
The on-stage remarks, which critics say were unpatriotic, have resulted in a flood of criticism and a backlash that has included a boycott of their music.
The hour-long interview will air on a special edition of “PRIMETIME," FRIDAY, APRIL 25 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

The more they talk, the more they dig a hole. I'll bet the Vichy Chicks' agents are taking Tums and Maalox like there's no tomorrow.

I don't know--but I do know what they said, and I don't intend to watch this interview! True colors are true colors, and they certainly showed theirs.

Can't you just "feel the love" from Diane? I'm feeling queasy already.

I wish my "free speech" included hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of free advertising from the alphabet networks, whenever my managers felt I needed a plug. ;-)

Anyone can call in and say things, but a caller to a talk show I was listening to claimed that they were on tour in Australia and said that they stood by their comments about Bush. Don't know if this is true or not, but it ought to be possible to find out.

An hour-long interview?
I predict that they'll be able to offend everyone given that amount of time. All three of them are terminally stupid.
To: an amused spectator
They start their USA tour May 1 and they must be pretty desperate to put out the firestorm.
To: Pharmboy
How many NEW excuses will they come up with?

The only way the Chicks could ever hope to survive their stupidity is if they say "mea culpa" by mentioning that what happened to them was their own fault and that they are sorry. What they shouldn't be doing is act as the victims of the thought police as the people who they will accuse of being the thought police are their own fans. Playing the victim, even if tears are shed during the interview will fool nobody.

Wonder when this interview was recorded?

The hour-long interview will air on a special edition of “PRIMETIME," FRIDAY, APRIL 25 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. What a way to try to get ratings. Interview people that are being boycotted. Does this make sound business sense?

It is apparant that the likes of Sean Hannity is overwhelming them. I'll bet that they have to split up to make another inroad. They'll never survive at this level as "Country" musicians. They'll each need to go through a complete music genre makeover. Country fans won't tolerate this...
