NOW defends Scott Peterson's right to choose
Jewish World Review ^ | 4/22/02 | Scott Ott

The National Organization for Women has decided to broaden its fundraising base by supporting a man's right to choose in addition to the traditional woman's right to choose.

In this case, the man is Scott Peterson, currently staying in private quarters as a guest of officials in Stanislaus County, CA. A local NOW chapter spokesman issued a formal apology to Mr. Peterson for the "grievous injustice he has suffered at the hands of those who would limit his rights."

The spokesman called on local officials to drop one of the two murder charges against Mr. Peterson on the grounds that the late-term fetus his wife carried was not a person.

"If he had killed his wife then removed a tape worm from her and it died, he would only be charged with one murder," said the NOW spokesman. "That is a precisely accurate analogy using irrefutable logic."

A memo from the NOW legal department also defended Mr. Peterson's alleged decision because of the extraordinary situation.

"Terminating the fetus at that late date was still permissible," according to the memo,"because there was a clear threat to the life and health of the mother."

JWR contributor Scott Ott publishes the satirical website ScrappleFace.com, whose motto is "News fairly unbalanced. We report. You decipher."

A precise analogy this is NOT.  A child is something that two people conceive together to procreate.  A tape worm is a parasitic animal that uses your body without your knowledge.  There is a huge difference that we do not seem to have trouble seeing.  Not to mention the fact that there are no laws regarding the killing of tape worms extracted from a human body, before or after that bodies murder.  These creatures of NOW need to shut the @$*# up!

Satire, as it is, it's still the way some of these people think...or stink...you choose.

Yes it is. If you believe people are just overgrown monkeys, that is.

Of course, the belief that people are just overgrown monkeys and nothing else also leads to infanticide, slavery, and tyranny.

It's always amusing to see a bunch of deviant women arguing on the basis of 'might-makes-right', pagan ethics. If they actually lived in a society based on those ethics they wouldn't occupy the positions of influence they do today because...men are stronger and meaner than women and would just force them out of the way to grab the power for themselves. Feminist buffoonery is only possible in a free society, which is only possible by rejecting might-makes-right atheistic/materialistic ethics.

Someone should have spanked these hags when they were little. I think that's the problem here. Arrested development.

A precious, completely viable human life is the same as a tape worm to this ghoulish death lovers.

Funny, if the woman wants an abortion but the man doesn't, he doesn't have a choice. Now Scott has a choice but Lacy didn't. They only have a choice if the choice is what NOW wants the choice to be.

Comparing a Human BABY with a tape worm is absolutely disgusting. It is like that woman comparing 3000 deaths on 911 to chickens. Where do these people come from?

Does this mean that NOW supports a man's right to force an abortion?

As well you should. Even Ott's satirical excesses are only infinitesimally removed from the reality of NOW rhetoric and dogma. Sounds like NOW is catching some deserved flak for its soulless attack:

NOW backs away from comments by its Morris president

This is in exceptionally poor taste.

See #36. When the writer's satire almost indistinguishably matches the rhetorical dissimulation of the harridans from NOW, it's the latter's grisly preoccupation with ensuring the right to death, not the former's satire, that's in poor taste.
