North Korea: U.S. denies hand in defection of elite (Nuclear Scientists) from North

WASHINGTON ¡ª The U.S. government denied its involvement in the alleged defection of 20 high-profile North Koreans, including a nuclear scientist, but would neither confirm nor deny that the alleged defections took place.
Australian media earlier reported that Kyong Won-ha, the nuclear scientist known to be the father of North Korea¡¯s nuclear program, had been smuggled out of the country along with other military officials over the past six months. Mr. Kyong was reportedly in the United States.
In a daily press briefing Monday, Richard Boucher, spokesman of the U.S. State Department, denied reports that Washington paid for the establishment of Nauru¡¯s diplomatic missions in exchange for an escape route for the officials.
Allegations that we offered monetary inducements of this kind are just not true, Mr. Boucher said.
Thomas Hubbard, U.S. Ambassador to South Korea, when asked to comment in a radio interview yesterday in Seoul, said, ¡°There is no truth to the story.¡±
The U.S. Embassy later glossed Mr. Hubbard¡¯s comments, saying that he was calling only the Australian newspaper¡¯s story inaccurate. The embassy declined to specifically identify the inaccuracies.
Philip Gagner, a Washington-based lawyer who allegedly arranged Mr. Kyong¡¯s defection with the Nauru government, told the JoongAng Ilbo yesterday that he could not confirm his involvement in the defection at this point, but said the truth would come out in due time.

Now we know why Yo Kim Chia Head, the Short Donged One was so quiet for two months.

He was searching hi and low for his nuclear experts, and then he saw the shock and awe delivered to his buddy Soddomite.

It has not been a good few months for Yo Kim Chia Head, the Short Donged One.

This, also, makes fools out of those on the left and the so called far right who called GW dumb and worse for not going after Yo Kim Chia Head, the Short Donged One instead of Saddam.

Again GW knew what was happening and his enemies here in the states and overseas didn't have a blue clue.

As the Bush Doctrine as you lable it, continues to unfold, those on the left and far right get dazed with more shock and awe. Their last coherent words are, "He ain't as dumb as we thought he was!"

"He ain't as dumb as we thought he was!"

He has a lot of smart people around him, and that makes him real smart!

"He ain't as dumb as we thought he was!"

Its safer for all concerned if they think he is dumb. As long as they do they believe they will eventually unseat him. Otherwise we might have riots.

Yeah, you are right. Let them live in their fantasy world until GW kicks them out of the stadium in November 2004.

The U.S. government denied its involvement in the alleged defection of 20 high-profile North Koreans, including a nuclear scientist, but would neither confirm nor deny that the alleged defections took place.

Is that a loaded statement or what? We could have fun breaking that one down.

But, right now, I don't have time.......

Al questions about alleged covert activity -- whether the covert activity is true or false -- is answered in this manner. So, "neither confirm nor deny" really doesn't tell us much and its not suppposed to.
