PORTLAND, Maine (AP) U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe lashed back Tuesday at a conservative group running TV ads that attack her for opposing the size of President Bush's tax cut proposal.
In ads running this week in Maine, a tax-cut advocacy group called the Club for Growth questions Snowe's Republican Party loyalty, equating her opposition to Bush's proposal to French opposition to the U.S. war with Iraq.

How about "Anyone who disagrees in public with Bush's policies while a war is on is a traitor."? Or at least not a Republican.
That I can go along with. I didn't understand you for a second. My apologies.
I like that!
I agree with you.........100%
Portland is the equivilant of Jamaca Spain in Boston, liberals, sponges, and illeagal immigrants.
On or about April 12, I finally received a response from her, which was dated February 13. Here it is, emphasis added:
"Dear Outside the Mainstream (a little poetic license):
...You expressed support for President Bush's economic stimulus plan. As you know, President Bush outlined an economic growth package on January 7. This package - which would cost approximately $670 billion over the coming 10 years - contained a variety of provisions including the exclusion of dividend income from personal income tax liability and a tripling of the expensing limit for small businesses, from $25,000 to $75,000. In addition, the package would also accelerate the phase-in of various tax cuts enacted in 2001, including marginal rate reductions, the child tax credit, and marriage penalty relief. You can almost see her nose wrinkling in revulsion
Given the fact that more than 2.3 million private-payroll jobs have been lost since the recession began in March 2001 - and given the fact that we are currently in the midst of a "jobless recovery" - I support the enactment of a stimulus package that will maximize economic growth in both the short and long-run. I believe such a package should be fiscally responsible, benefit all taxpayers, including those in the lowest income brackets, and be comprised of provisions that provide the strongest potential incentives for economic growth. Yeah, like "free" prescription drugs.
In light of these criteria, and as a member of the Senate Finance Committee God help us which has jurisdiction on tax issues, I will be carefully reviewing proposals to stimulate the economy, including the President's plan."
Any Democrat in the country could have signed this without fear.
I used to like her. When her hubby was Governor of Maine? She seemed pretty straight from the hip. What ever turned her into a RINO, I have no idea. Unless it's Hitlery rubbing off on her in Washington.
She doesn't pass the smell test any longer, does she?
Not pretty
I can remember when medical insurance for my family cost $50 a month and we got to deduct that from our income tax. When we could not longer afford the insurance and they stopped the deduction we no longer carried the insurance, just chanced it. Also, if you go to the Dr. and tell them you have no insurance, and you will pay out of pocket it costs less. I did that when we did have insurance, paid the bill and turned that bill into my insurance company myself.
It is time to get our medical insurance as a tax deduction again. Why can't we as our bodies are the engine that produces the income for the government. A farmer or any company gets to deduct for their machineary to keep their company going and produce income, why can't we deduct to keep our bodies in good shape?
I can guarantee anyone that I will not be eating dog food, that costs about $.90 cents a can. I can buy a can of tuna and crackers for that, cost of a package of seeds still $.10 cents. I am going to eat good. Sorry its so long, just a chance to rant.
Yes, isn't it sad that people we disuss issues and ideas. Isn't it said that we've been reduced to giving input to elected officials.
The senator asked incredulously, ''I mean, can you believe anybody describing prescription drugs as pork barrel spending?''
Umm....yes?

Your obstruction of the Republican tax cut puts YOU outside the mainstream.
You have aligned yourself with Ted Kennedy against President Bush.
You are at diametric poles with our own Senator Pete Domenici on this matter--tell HIM he's outside the mainstream.
Our economy needs the stimulus of a tax cut.
Why are you putting YOUR interests ahead of America's?
The MAINSTREAM of your supposed party wants to know.
