PORTLAND, Maine (AP) U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe lashed back Tuesday at a conservative group running TV ads that attack her for opposing the size of President Bush's tax cut proposal.

In ads running this week in Maine, a tax-cut advocacy group called the Club for Growth questions Snowe's Republican Party loyalty, equating her opposition to Bush's proposal to French opposition to the U.S. war with Iraq.

The RINO Snowe is upset because the heat's getting to her. Time to ratchet it up another notch.

The senator asked incredulously, ''I mean, can you believe anybody describing prescription drugs as pork barrel spending?''

You mean - taking *my* money and giving it to someone else so YOU can list it as "an accomplishment" and get re-elected?

Why - not at all! That's simple robbery!

Snow did not mention the REAL pork in this bill. Apparently, she doesn't mind IT.

"[W]hich has occasionally targeted GOP moderates": read "GOP leftists." Keep the heat on these pinkos.

In my business, when there's a downturn in the industry and the cash flow is turning negative, I don't raise prices to stimulate sales. I lower prices and CUT spending. Real cuts, not just a reduction in increased rate of spending.

When was the last time the government applied this principle?

I'd guess never.

Would you like some fromage with your whine, Ms. Snow?

And yes, dammit, a prescription drug benefit IS MOST DEFINITELY pork-barrel spending.

Anyone who disagrees with Bush's policies while a war is on is a traitor. Nuff said.

Prescription drugs for seniors is the worst kind of pork! At least with "regular" pork, you end-up with an over priced building or a road going nowhere or something! What do we get from forking-over untold sums to seniors? More bitching, whining and demanding from the greedy geezers.

The Land for Maine’s Future Board today (April 3) announced the selection of 22 land conservation projects as finalists for the 2003 round of funding under the $50 Million Bond approved by Maine voters in 1999. The Board allocated a total of $9.5 million to support these finalists. Governor John Elias Baldacci welcomed the news saying, “Maine citizens treasure the natural heritage of this state. They understand the connection between a healthy environment and a sound economy. http://www.state.me.us/spo/lmf/press/finalists.php
