I think prescription drugs are pork barrel and I'm 65 years old. I also think most prescription drugs do more harm than good.

I am 65 also, and I agree with you. We don't need this, all it will accomplish is to inflate the cost of drugs, just as the cost of Drs. and hospitals went up with medicare. There was so much fraud in that program and still is. Drs and hospitals overcharging and nursing homes chargings for dead patients.

I can remember when medical insurance for my family cost $50 a month and we got to deduct that from our income tax. When we could not longer afford the insurance and they stopped the deduction we no longer carried the insurance, just chanced it. Also, if you go to the Dr. and tell them you have no insurance, and you will pay out of pocket it costs less. I did that when we did have insurance, paid the bill and turned that bill into my insurance company myself.

It is time to get our medical insurance as a tax deduction again. Why can't we as our bodies are the engine that produces the income for the government. A farmer or any company gets to deduct for their machineary to keep their company going and produce income, why can't we deduct to keep our bodies in good shape?

I can guarantee anyone that I will not be eating dog food, that costs about $.90 cents a can. I can buy a can of tuna and crackers for that, cost of a package of seeds still $.10 cents. I am going to eat good. Sorry its so long, just a chance to rant.
