EVERYONE should stop taking all non-essential vitamin and mineral supplements following the nation's biggest recall of medical products.
Health authorities issued the warning after yesterday recalling 219 vitamin and nutritional supplements, pain relievers and other products, adding that thousands more could be recalled in coming days. (Drugs recalled so far)
The recall, a crisis for the billion-dollar over-the-counter natural remedy industry, was sparked by a Therapeutic Goods Administration audit of the nation's largest maker of herbal and nutritional supplements, Pan Pharmaceuticals.
The audit found Pan was risking lives by releasing products despite failing to test raw ingredients, or fudging the results of tests. Equipment at its headquarters in Sydney was not cleaned between batches, potentially contaminating products

How well are USA vitamins checked? Are any pan products in USA?
To: HuntsvilleTxVeteran
Chief executive James Selim, who founded Pan in 1974, has a personal wealth of $210 million. Doesn't appear he made all of it the honest way...

by Ryan Tuccinardi
The Greek god of shepherds and flocks, who was especially popular in Arcadia. He is a son of the god Hermes. He was depicted as a satyr with a reed pipe, a shepherd's crook and a branch of pine or crown of pine needles. He had a wrinkled face with a very prominent chin. On his forehead were two horns and his body was hairy. He was a swift runner and climbed rocks with ease. Pan belonged to the retinue of Dionysus.
Pan was also a god of fertility, unbridled male sexuality and carnal desire. He chased nymphs through the forests and mountains in the shape of a goat. Pan was not very liked by the other Greek gods.

Hmmm, I wonder what kind of vitamins these are.

I must confess I took a widely promoted product "sea silver" which containes colloidal silver and it damn near killed me. Took me six (6) months to recover. Had severe joint pain, severe headaches, impotence, etc. Left me with altered taste and smell facilities, among other things. I am so embarrased with my stupidy, only my doctor knows.

Yep! Do not take vitamins, too many people are healthy and do not come to see the killer, mistake making doctors. No fat, no cholesterol for early departure and shrinking brains!

EVERYONE should stop taking all non-essential vitamin and mineral supplements following the nation's biggest recall of medical products. This could be a real problem or it could be part of the worldwide tendency of regulatory authorities and the drug companies to try to take away the freedom of individuals to make decisions about their own health.
One has to be reasonably careful about who manufactures and packages and markets the vitamins you buy. But if the powers that be had their way, vitamins would only be available by prescription, and would have the same outrageous prices as many of today's drugs.

Beg to differ -- indeed, it was the silver content that caused my ailments. Had elevated serum levels of silver, followed toxocilogy guidelines for purging silver out of system. The human body has no, repeat, NO use for silver suppliments. Perhaps other freepers have had a similar response. Be well!

Beg to differ -- indeed, it was the silver content that caused my ailments Then I would be very interested in knowing how many parts per million were in the bottle you used and if your took the recommended dosage. Was the product tested? Was the size of the silver particles in the normal range? If the PPM was in excess of the generally accepted range or the size was excessive, have you pursued litigation?
I don't have any connection to the colloidal silver industry but my family has had good results with colloidal silver. It has succeeded where allopathic treatments such as antibiotics have failed, and the anti-microbial properties of silver are well known in industry. We generate our own colloidal silver because the results are repeatable within an acceptable range.
Perhaps your body was retaining silver is an unusual manner? Glad you are well.

I ask you too if Seasilver is good or should it be discontinued????
To: Arkinsaw
Do a Google search on Argyria. And then ask someone knowledgeable how often argyria occurs among users of colloidal silver.

Thank you...we will do the search.

I don't believe in taking artificial vitamins. I only take NATURE'S vitamins such as the glass of FRESH-SQUEEZED ORANGE JUICE that I'm drinking now. I always get amused by folks taking Vitamin C tablets when OJ is so much more effective.

Once is enough if its you. The Google search pulls up plenty of medical info, they ought to be able to read if for themselves, and sort it out, without any assistance from all of us.
