Why Americans Are Hated Everywhere!
Toogood Reports ^ | April 30, 2003 | Dan Glanz

I have had an epiphany!

I now know why Americans are hated everywhere.

The United States is the biggest consumer country in the world. We grow, manufacture and import more of everything … from everywhere.

We have the most stable government in the world … there are older nations, but few of them have governments as old. Our citizens strive to be well-educated, hardworking, family-oriented and are proud to be Americans.

All the currencies of the world are measured in US Dollars. The symbol of right and success and decency is red, white and blue.

The question must be raised, then, as to why all this vitriolic anti-American feeling? From our Allies, or supposed Allies? Jealousy? For sure! National pride? Surely there is that. Economic wish? That too. However, that was all true before 1989 as well.

NEVERTHELESS, the single reason for most of the anti-American rhetoric is this. The Soviet Union is no longer the force from which they need protection. It is just that simple.

The Soviets were an expansionist government. They seized every opportunity to put a totalitarian regime in place. Their efforts to subvert freedoms around the world were felt in every state, nation and realm. Even those countries with strict doctrinaire dictatorships feared the unrest fomented by Soviet influence … even as many played ‘footsie´ with Moscow. In their minds, they knew the United States was ‘in the wings´ to prevent their overthrow.

Today, the former Soviet Union members are independent countries. They relish their freedoms, with growing economies based on the American model of free enterprise and governments that openly debate political issues only whispered in backrooms of the most trusted relatives just 20 years ago.

Russia, on the other hand, has a president who understands well the implication of a freely elected democratic nation. While President Putin remembers the bygone days of Soviet might, he also knows he must deal with the reality of having an economy barely surviving. Without the trade and aid proffered by the western nations, there would be catastrophic famine and an economic calamity, perhaps equal to the Stalingrad of World War II. And so, he talks out of both sides of his mouth. To the ‘old Soviets´ in the Politburo he tries to keep the swagger. To the US, he pleads for help. He walks a tightrope — one slip … with no net!

These same formerly oppressed nations, these former puppets of the Soviet Union, are now members of NATO. These governments were among the first to recognize the need to free Iraq from their Soviet style leadership. They, as nations, are surely happy with their place on the world stage.

The others … the citizens of France, Germany, Belgium … along with the other nations who share their myopia … all want for themselves what we have (and are so careless with) … call it power, call it prestige, call it might … you may call it whatever you wish. In a single word, it is RESPECT!

President Bush, with all his folksy ways, is perhaps the epitome of what America is all about. The word descriptions like honesty, integrity, reverence and honor are true, but if you think about all they mean … are they not what we as a nation are? When you think back to your grandparents, to your elders of whatever generation … did they not have the same values?

So, in the end, all the anti-American ballyhooing in the demonstrating, parading and chanting television pictures is simply this … it is the safety of knowing America rejoices in that freedom too. And despite some of our politicians who have not had this epiphany, we will always protect their freedoms … whatever they are … whenever they get them!

America now — in this time, in this world, with this administration, is and clearly will be … AMERICA, the guard dog, watching a freer world!

It's simpler than this. Most elites in other nations achieved and currently hold their positions of power and influence at the expense of the majority of their people. The American system of government and its popularity among their enslaved populations is a dire threat to their continued existence on the planet...so they miss no opportunity to denigrate America, catechize their people to repeat anti-American slogans and blame America for the the evils they themselves are perpetrating. Whether European socialist aristocracies like France or the brutal dicatorships of the Middle East, their motivations are identical - only their methods differ slightly from country to country.

We create ... what ??? 80% of the World Domestic Product (WDP), use 70% of the world resources and produce 30% of the world pollution.

What's not to hate. We be good!

The United States is sort of like the high school jock who could kick everybody's ass and got all the girls. While everybody waves to him in the hallways and makes a public show of being friendly to him, behind his back, they hate him and conspire to "knock him down a peg or two."

We're hated because the success of our system of government and culture makes the varying lack of success of the other systems glaringly obvious. They hate our seccess in inverse proportion to their own lack of it. They'd rather hate than switch.

What one generation tolerates the next will embrace.Politicle correctness and a lack of intestinal fortitutde will be the downfall of us all.

Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! They hate us for one reason, the same reason they hate Israel. We are intricately tied to God's eternal plan to bring His Kingdom to earth. I don't care one whit if anybody doesn't believe this. Within a few years they will be eating their words. It will be as obvious as the sun coming up each day.

I have and still believe that any hatred of America comes mainly from our support of Israel. This is my own opinion; you're not required to agree.

"What's not to hate?" I married a Cuban out of Castro's Cuba after the revolution. I'm a born-in-America American and while I love America with all my being, he showed me things Americans take for granted. He always says "Only in America can you go into a supermarket and see a great big aisle filled with every variety of dog food, cat food, dog toys, cat toys, kitty litter, dog bones, etc.". Driving on the New York State Thruway through a mountainous area he says "I love America - they see a mountain and construct a great road right through it". When he sees Barney and Spot, President Bush's dogs, getting so much attention on TV, he says "Only in America will two dogs get so much attention - and this is what makes America a great country." And when he watched the Iraqi war on TV he said "I'm so proud to be an American."

I spent my childhood in Taiwan where there were no stray dogs. It looks so easy, to have access to every material possession. The hard part is not to lose your soul...and America hasn't been doing so well in that department. Hollywood is the America that the word sees...not Frank Kapra, but Roman Polanski. If America were really what she is portrayed as being, I would hate her too.

Instead, I see the America where my neighborhood mosque is unmolested, where my fellow citizens have banded together to minister to the weakest members of our society and where, for three hours a day, I can listen to Rush while my sister listens to NPR and then we vote to decide...and sit down to Thanksgiving dinner together.

I have heard the stories of how prisoners in the Gulag rejoiceed to hear Reagan call evil by it's real name...and the more that we Americans are intolerant of repressive regimes, and less willing to support the hypocrisy of the UN, I believe that free nations will love us, while tyrants will hate us...and that is the way it should be.

For the same reason if you were a gil you hated that pretty girl and if you were a guy you hated the star quarterback in high school.

We are it and they are losers.

I dont know if i like that analogy. Jocks are usually a-holes who make fun of people and push that nerd down. In Iraq, we picked that guy up and helped him to his feet.

At least in most "most popular jock" settings.
