A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 5/1/03

Posted on 05/01/2003 7:13:51 PM PDT by rintense

President Bush and First Lady Laura began the day in a ceremony honoring the National Day of Prayer. Bush then headed to San Diego where he co-piloted a Navy Viking jet and landed on the USS Abraham Lincoln, a truly historic moment for American Presidents and our country. The President then spoke to the nation saying that major combat operations in Iraq are over. Bush also took the opportunity to once again thank the men and women of our military. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I'LL COOL OFF THE STUD TALK SHORTLY, BUT... [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

...before I do, here's an e-mail from a retired Air Force colonel. It's some kind of wonderful new day when our military has this kind of pride for their commander in chief: You just can't conceive of how much we love this guy. He commands an unprecedented amount of loyalty and respect among the armed forces. He not only walks the walk, he gets the trap (Navy talk). We don't think of him as a stud; he is so much more than that. He is the guy you hang with in the flight room, the guy you hunker down in the bunker with. He is the commander that is the first on the field and the last off. He is the guy you kneel down and pray with prior to putting your life on the line one more time. He is much more than a stud, he is a fighter jock. There are few in all of the armed forces who wouldn't march into Hell for him.

Agreed. It is the total man. He appeals to everyone because, in a way, he IS everyone. He represents what is great about our country- the confidence, the character, and the emotion. He is truly the embodiment of the American spirit. Ralph Lauren should put him in a Chaps ad.

WOW, Utah Girl, that's an awesome post. I feel the same way. Did you hear Duke Cunningham today?? He said something like, I would be President Bush's wingman to hell, and know he would bring me back alive.

I love this President!!!!!111

Today, I am a PROUD patriotic CinC-loving bushbot!

I had the VCR running just about all day - Okay, it seems like it. Man, the guys over at DU must be on suicide watch, and the Dims are yelling "equal time" for the entire day having been taken up with the President's flights - Marine1, AF1, then NAVY1. As a former Navy contractor, all I could do when his plane was landing was to yell, "GO NAVY!"

I have been so busy right-clicking on this thread, I haven't gotten past the first page yet.......

You just gotta love this President.

And on this National Day of Prayer, I once again want to thank God for giving us who we needed. At such a time as this, I shudder to think of any other person being President except for our beloved Dubya.
