As I posted on another thread:

To: OK; All

"Until such time as she wants to talk — and that's going to be no time soon, and it may be never at all — the press is simply going to have to wait."

Everyone will have to wait and speculation will do no good.

I'm a bit closer to this entire situation because the 507th is my son-in-law's unit. He did not deploy due to medical reasons. Those who were lost and all that made it home, were/are his friends and comrades. I also know the CSM who had the sad duty of calling the roll, which went unanswered, at the memorial service for those who did not make it home.

Additionaly, I had the great honor and pleasure of spending a few hours with one of the POW's, in the relaxed atmosphere of a cookout, in my son-in-law's backyard. Sgt. Jim Riley is a fine young man who told me point blank that all involved are under orders not to speak about what happened over there, until such time that all investigations are complete.

Eventually, the truth will come out. Until that time, everything is nothing but rumor and speculation.

Regards to all

God Bless your son-in-law.

I have mixed feelings on this. On one hand, I wish for her to be given privacy to heal, and just be left alone.

Then there is the other side of me. My personal opinion is that all the broken bones detail the torture she endured. And, being a cute blonde in that hellhole, I do think she was gang raped more than once. If that became public knolledge perhaps this insanity of women in the front lines would be forced to end.

I read an article posted here on FR stating that many of the members of the 507th couldn't fight back because their weapons were jammed. One of the male POW's said that he was loading rounds into his M16 one at a time and firing. One of the former POW's even said that they couldn't fight back or even do a "bayonet charge", because they would have been mowed down. Many people in the media or here on FR haven't discussed this aspect of the ambush. It seems that this version, corroborated by the other POWs, is in conflict with the portrayal of a solitary Pfc Lynch fighting off the Iraqis and running out of ammo. Anyone have any ideas on this?

Its not just Lynch's rifle that (apparently) didn't jam, there were four? soldiers who managed to escape from the ambush- Staff Sgt Jackson, Corporal Luten and others. they don't report their rifles jamming either, though in this report from the Oregonian, they do say a machine gun jammed.

Maybe the sand wasn't as thick where they were or they just took better care of their weapons. Also if they were in the back of a truck, less sand would been blowing around, whereas the jammed MG was probably mounted on top of a vehicle in the full blast of the storm.

Bob Livingston, as in Bob Livingston the former U.S. Representative from LA who was Speaker of the House for about as long as Mike Price was head football coach at the University of Alabama (both who lost their positions for roughly the same reason)?

I think so also, the body has mechanisms to protect itself from difficult situations and IMHO this is an example of that mechanism. I understand her ankle injuries were typical of being hung upside down by the ankles, not something I would want to think about if that actually happened.

I agree. Leave the poor girl alone. Let her get professonal help. Do not interject an agenda into her recovery, it is going to be hard enough without pressure from the government!

>>Another type of amnesia is psychogenic amnesia... Unlike amnesia caused by physical factors, these memories can often be retrieved by psychotherapy or hypnosis. Sometimes the memories return on their own.<<

Oh, I see. Thank you for educating me, kcvl.

first off...people plz stop saying you know all these details when you dont, i mean i have no idea who you people but im pretty sure you dont have stars on your lapel so theres no possible way you could no what happened.

AND did you ever think why the whole ambush is so hush hush is because the details are being withheld from the public for purposes of the prosecution of war crimes....I was reading the paper the other day concerning SGT rilley and he was orderd not talk about any detail concerning the incident. so plz think you speak and stop demeaning the girls existance by saying shes not a hero or did nothing heroic....Id like to see you go hostile country and be put in the same situation, I WONDER WHAT YOU WOULD DO

Oh, they'd much prefer to believe in sinister forces of darkness conspiring to spin this story.

Wrap your mind around this... ALL
First I did a search on "Jessica Lynch RAPED?" and found this site. Deeper I searched and found This.
Again wrap your mind around this.
"Successfully integrating women in combat means this: A soldier must ignore the screams of a woman POW being tortured and raped." Why? Why?, I ask Why?

PLS I implore us all... Horner and cherish or Feminine society. DON’T PUT THEM IN HARMS WAY.
