I think there are a lot "powerfull" people directing the story. We will never learn the truth. True is, she had to suffer a lot..the "sucessful" war history doesn't allow us to know the truth!! They don't want us to know, how horrible the single peoples lifes are.
I watched the Arabian TV, it's scary the way they think about the USA. (I can watch all of the Arabian Channels) it comes for free with GermaN TV).
Jessica will get her live back, when we all (media) cut back and leave her alone. (hope so)

She remembers, she just doesn't want to talk about it and this is the best way to get the media off her back.

I can't even imagine what it must have been like for her. She doesn't need to see it on TV in living color portrayed by some degenerate Hollywood type.

>>This recovered memory [garbage] is complete [garbage]. They are going to implant ideas in her head if they aren't careful>>

I would hope that the army has superior brain MDs; doctors who understand neuro-dysfunction from a biological perspective, rather than those self-serving kook MDs who created the false- memory hysteria.

The lawyer who rescued her is here in the US, he was granted asylum and is eligible for citizenship. He is attending classes to improve his english, is working for the Livingston lobbying group (at least he will be when he can speak english well enough). Bob Livingston was on TV the other night about it. A group of wonderful Americans took up a collection to get the money to get he and his family resettled here in the US.

your attitude coming across is that somehow Jessica was not a POW or not seriously injured and blah blah blah..

the girl is in the hospital and probably will still be for several weeks....that is enough for me to know, that and the fact that she alone was alone was taken away...

I fell that Shoshana would have been taken away too, but they didn't realize she was female right off, thankfully for her...

God bless you Jessica.....and I hope we the grateful American citizenry can help you anyway you need....

"This heroine is the same person who pulled the sheets of her bed up over her face when the rescuers first entered her room in the hospital she was being held captive"

that is exactly what I would have done....tried to hide my face so I wouldn't be so obvious if I heard what I thought would be Iraqi soldiers coming....

why so bitter?...why so negative towards this very young lady who could be home painting her toe nails with rings in her nostrils and her unmentionables and shooting up drugs....

can't understand some of the mentatlity here.....a young person serves her country and all we get are these little innuedos and probing questions, like you are big time jealous or something....

If only a sizable portion of our young men and women in this country actually did something for this country like Jessica and the others....

I assure everybody that her injuries were not sustained by a little old car wreck....in my opinion of course......

Another type of amnesia is psychogenic amnesia. This is amnesia caused by a psychological trauma. People with this amnesia may forget events around a terrible incident, such as witnessing the violent death of a loved one. Unlike amnesia caused by physical factors, these memories can often be retrieved by psychotherapy or hypnosis. Sometimes the memories return on their own.

Psychiatrists are helping her recover her memories

NO, NO and NO. "Recovered" memories are NOT reliable. They need to leave her the hell alone. If she is meant to remember the trauma she will in her own time. This is a protective mechanism of the psyche which should not be broken down.

Mohamed Odeh al-Rehaief is the lawyer's full name. Apparently he is in need of surgery himself so he won't be talking for a while:-

I believe I saw in some report that he was wounded walking through the lines.

The "fighting to the death" story is only ever sourced to "U.S. Officials", presumably the Washington Post reporters' contacts in the Pentagon. None of the surviving members of the 507th say anything about it in reported comments, though we don't know what they told military debriefers.
I suppose the "officials" might have got the story from Iraqi sources (prisoners, signals intelligence...). There is of course no reason why it can't be true, but I wonder if they just heard of a woman soldier fighting to the death and applied the story to the wrong one- after all Pfc Piestewa WAS killed.
Similarly unnamed "Pentagon Officials" seem to have told Pfc Piestewa's congressman something like this:

'As the convoy was ambushed, [representative]Renzi said Piestewa and her leader fought to save the rest.

"It's her and the master sergeant having to fight and defend, in order for their comrades and brothers and sisters in arms to get out of the vehicle," Renzi said.

"She fought back with her weapon and she was involved in one of the fiercest portions of the fight. She did not flee, nor do I know that there is any evidence of cowardice of any of the people on the ranks."'

Once again an example of the liberal media attempting to foist the "heroic female" combatant on the unsuspecting public.

Yup. You've got it. This is all about the catastrophic stupidity of putting our women into situations where we cannot protect them, i.e. in or near combat. Women can be bright, intelligent and engaging beings. They cannot be men.

It is a pretty sad commentary on our society when the primitive pagans do a better job of protecting their women than we do ours.

Tell it to Boadicea.

I don't think the poster is either bitter or jealous. I think he's horrified with the notion of putting women in harm's way, and has noticed that ideal is one of the main goals of the liberal/socialists and conservative/socialists, who are notorious for using lies, exploitation and misdirection to achieve their goals.

Unfortunately, when dealing in today's political climate, there is either insensitive cynicism or mindless gullibility, with no middle ground.

the best way to get the media off her back.

I think the whole Lynch family is giving every hint they can that they aren't publicity seekers, they don't want the celebrity. The father always gives the impression he can't wait for the cameras to get out of his face but he tries to be polite. I don't think they're clamming up for any other reason than they are just private people and want only that. Celebrity should be given to only those who want it --and there are plenty of those. I hope we hear less and less about Jessica Lynch ---I think that's what I'd want if it was my family in this position. Not that I'm not curious an all ---but it's not really our business anymore.

Good deal, then apparently the lawyer is a real person (and a nice one at that). So perhaps fabrication is not so likely as some degree of confusion among the press, and possibly some lesser or greater degree of hyperbole. I think that would then have numerous parallels in other wars...
