Orlando, Florida - Leaders of a pro-second amendment, liberty activist group are outraged over the arrest of a member of their group, who is also a paid member of the well-known second amendment group that had him arrested for passing out flyers outside a gun show last Sunday.

The National Rifle Association apparently had one of its members, a pro-gun activist, arrested at its national convention on, April 27, 2003 in Orlando, Florida for handing out pro-gun freedom literature from an organization known as the Free State Project, Inc. The unlucky NRA member was Timothy Condon, a Marine Corps Vietnam veteran and Director of Member Services for the rapidly growing Free State Project.

The above statement is misleading. He was arrested for trespassing, not passing out papers. Only the police can arrest someone so he either broke the law or did not. Under state law, he had to get a permit to solicit on their convention grounds. Obviously he did not.

drugs, gambling & prostitution you just invited all the liberals into your state
putting you right back where you started.

I happen to be pro-FSP, and still don't understand why this happened, particularly since many pro-2nd groups hand out literature at these events all the time. From various FSP forums, I don't think Condon quite knows who prompted this either.

Sierra Times, which is not a friend or supporter of the NRA, is leaving out half the story.

This guy was asked to leave and he didn't. He was arrested for tresspassing.

If fifty members of the MMM who were also there at the convention can follow simple instructions, why couldn't this bozo?

It reminds me of a story about a small town in Alaska.

The citizens of the town said that every summer, wackos from the lower 48 come to their town trying to start some kind of political movements. She also said they get a lot of suicides from the newcomers.

She said the problem resolves itself when winter comes and the newcomers leave.

Or are you against FSP because they questioned your precious NRA?

BTW, I am now and have been a member of the NRA. I am not yet a member of FSP, although I do like the idea.

It's not so much limiting your power, but starting from the ground up. If you could get something like the FSP to actually work, it just might inspire others to stand up for their rights in their own states.

I am in TOTAL agreement. States with regulations against drugs, gambling & prostitution have those vices under control. Just think of DC. Their gun regulations have almost completely eliminated gun crime. In fact these kinds of laws are working so well that many are calling for a prohibition against another dangerous drug, alcohol.

If I had the power I would make this the quote of the day.

I'm not against the FSP. I think they're just limiting their power by their ideas.

It would be better if they took over controlling interest in the Washington Post instead of limiting themselves to two senators and a handful of congressman.

It's a shame the guy who was arrested didn't have the sense of the million morons group. I didn't hear of any of them getting arrested.
