Too late. South coastal Maine is already little P-town. Next, into...ahem... the Great Backwoods.

This will be a fun court challenge.

They try to get it passed here in California over and over again. It makes me crazy.

Does it go through the Legislature, or are the people
allowed to vote on it.
I doubt we will see it here again for a while. It failed by a huge margin.

BTW, glad to see that, even though they are persistant in CA, they haven't been able to pass it!

Does the new state flag have a hammer, sickle and condom? Offering universal health care AND being "gay friendly" is a recipe for disaster. The astronomical costs of health care for AIDS infected gays is going to sink the state economy. Watch for massive tax increases to fund the bottomless money pit health care. Shortly after that is announced, watch a mass exodus of businesses.

About 13 percent of Maine's population, or about 165,000 people, lacks health insurance. How many of the 13% are making enough money to buy their own health insurance, but have decided that there are other priorities?
When Oregon was voting last year for "universal health insurance", it was shown that 25% of the uninsured made over $75,000 per year. Really, should anyone worry about them?

The people of ME choose people named Baldacci (promise them anything), Snowe (never heard of an abortion that she wouldn't like to have performed), and Collins. Ann Coulter says in "Slander" that Collins is an "air-head" or just plain "dumb." Need we say more?
To: Leisler
Sorry to hear about this.

Just liike they ordered teachers to respect occupations of the students parents.
This the state that has teachers saying that Maniacs who serve in the Guard are baby killers.
Nothing ever came of that.

Okay, fine. This is how this country was designed to work. Each state is its own laboratory. Let's see how well universal health care works in Maine before we go foisting it upon the entire country.

Nothing new, Dave. Ogunquit has been Provincetown North for fifty years.

The Baldacci family: lawyers, lesbians and cut rate politicians.

I don't think Maine HAS any money! We are supposed to be the poorest state in the Union............what money??? We just lost 3,000 more workers!Funny how the states that are bankrup, then some, keep coming up with costly, HUGE, new, govt. programs. The elected officials are simply looking for the next vote to buy, not caring about the future of the state.
Hopefully when Maine has to increase taxes to 80% for everyone the country will wake up and stop heading in that direction.
We just dumped our liberal democRAT govornor in Maryland. He spent about $2 billion more than the state had. With a balanced budget law the new republican is having to make a lot of cuts (good thing) but that won't cover the deficit so taxes are heading up...
