Hello Grampa!!

I just got the heck out of Oregon about 6 months ago, there was NO way that I was gonna stay any longer, Khitzaber and the rest were making me nuts.

Locke isn't much better, but things are looking up, up here in Washington, or so I am hoping.

My Wife's Aunt lives in Maine, and is a diehard liberal, I would not be surprised if this thing had her fingerprints on it somewhere.

She complains about the fact that her daughter's family left the state because he couldn't find a job, I sit quietly on the side and laugh ny butt off.

These liberals are clueless, and if they aren't, well, I won't go there.

Well, you have a personal insight to what has happened in Oregon and is happening in Maine.

Good luck in Washington? I guess that if you get away from the Seattle area, it isn't that bad.

There is a group shopping this from state to state to see if they can get one to pass it. Hopefully, state law requires a vote in Maine.

Hopefully............

Too late. South coastal Maine is already little P-town. Next, into...ahem... the Great Backwoods.

You've GOT to be kidding me!

The people of ME choose people named Baldacci (promise them anything), Snowe (never heard of an abortion that she wouldn't like to have performed), and Collins. Ann Coulter says in "Slander" that Collins is an "air-head" or just plain "dumb." Need we say more?

"I" live in Maine, but I sure didn't vote for Baldy! As for Snowe and Collins, if I vote against them, then we lost another seat in the state house. It's a no win situation. I am sick of it.

Yes, the "independent" votes of Snowe and Collins are needed to organize the Senate. Otherwise on really important matters these women are essentially Democrats. And it is impossible to defeat them in Republican primaries even if true conservatives entered the primaries.

Is Snowe still married to the former Governor McKernan? What happened to him? Unlike Bob Dole, he must have taken a back door so that his wife can be the focus of the ME spotlight.

OGUNQUIT, Where tourists flock to walk the Marginal Way path along the ocean is being over-run with gays. I hope they enact Universal Health Care in Maine. When it goes bankrupt or bankrupts taxpayers it will finally discredit the idea in America.

The problem if it bankrups Maine, the left wingers will blame us and GW for not supporting it and giving Maine enough of our tax $'s.

Look at the real quagmire, the So Called War on Poverty. We have wasted trillions with no success. The lefties say that the reason the War on Poverty has failed is that it didn't have enough money.

Good point. I didn't have health insurance until I was 27. I didn't think I needed it and, as it turned out, I didn't. I bought a Porsche instead.

Ahhh, the famous 10% luxury tax, otherwise know as the boat builders' unemployment plan -- it made them unemployed, permanently, and drove the companies out of business. Another demonstration of socialists' inability to understand capitalism.

Now I know why a lot of Gays are moving from California to retire or work in Maine.

It is Portland's stated goal to become the San Francisco of the East.

In a very Gay Way.

This sounds like a great thing. I know a lot of people who have to work at regular (taxpaying) jobs just to get health care. They would rather do "off-the-books" work to avoid paying income tax, but can't get affordable health insurance. This will allow many people to avoid taxes and still get healthcare.

I was born here and returned after a 5 year hiatus. Maine is a drain on the federal budget and we continually elect complete fools to office. Our elected Republicans are shams and our former "Independent" Governor was a former Democrat.

It's sad to see how this state has changed over the years, I was absolutely shocked when a statewide vote rejected a "gay rights" law a few years back. However, a lot of the towns have pushed forward their own bills. Especially, towns in and around Portland.

establish a health care system in which no Mainer is left without coverage

Good, nows it time to work on free food, free housing and free cars. Guess after that there's not much of a reason to work and pay taxes.

When the well heeled gay Grifters leave California and Oregon to go to Maine, there has to be something attracting them.

Their lifestyles really depend on the rest of us paying for their healthcare. So this could be a big push to get this population into the state to vote for the people of Maine to pay for their very expensive health care costs.
