Laredo Woman Assails GOP War Policies in "Letter to the Editor"
The Laredo (TX) Morning Times | 05-06-02 | Cortez, Margie

Posted on 05/06/2003 6:30:20 AM PDT by Theodore R.

This is an excerpt from Margie Cortez's "Letter to the Editor" of the Laredo newspaper:

The Laredo author is praising Markos Mendoza, a high school student in Laredo who wrote a previous letter critical of the U.S. involvement in Iraq.

"The war was unjustifiable and illegitmate -- all media-hype. Mr. Mendoza showed a lot of character, courage, and knowledge for one so young, and he called it right. This is the dawning of a 'Brave New World' and '1984,' and the public should be aware and take notice.

"He (Mendoza) has more common sense than those think tanks in Washington and the current Republican administration in office, who by the way, offers nothing to the American people but chaos, confusion, and hysteria."

Sometimes these letter writers do not realize how hilarious their comments turn out once they are put into print.

Sra. Cortez should stop mixing tequila and peyote.

Wonder if she's even read these books? Seems to me the public took notice in Fall, 2002.

I think the national Democrat letter-to-the-editor month has started. In my paper yesterday there were 6 out of 6 left-wing letters. All of them contained similar buzzwords, structure and language with very little real difference on the central theme.

I think this Margie Cortez is a local Democrat and would not think that she is part of a national letter-writing campaign, but one cannot be sure. She believes in "democracy" even if democracy is a "very bad form of government."

They're all local democrats, but the messages trickle down from the DNC to the grass-roots people. It just seems too convenient to have the paper splattered with the DNC line constantly in one big surge for it to be spontaneous political thought. It always comes in waves like that, at least in SD.

". than those think tanks in Washington and the current Republican administration in office, who by the way, offers nothing to the American people but chaos, confusion, and hysteria."

It should read "...in office, who, by the way, offer..."

Always use a plural verb when employing a plural subject, and be careful with your commas.

But then what do you expect from a DemocRATic stoolpigeon. God, they are sore losers!!!!
