Risking death to get your latest meth fix? No wonder cooks have a short life expectancy. Its harder than flipping burgers on the grill.

Under your legalized drug program, this meth lab would be legal next door!

The process used by meth cooks to make anhydrous ammonia also leaves behind a corrosive byproduct that could injure people exposed to it and hurt the environment, Boldt said.

Another drug war lie: Ammonium sulfate + lye makes ammonia, water, and sodium sulfate. Only the latter two could be called "byproducts" and neither is harmful, toxic or corrosive.

Unless they are talking about the killer DHMO, which of course is so corrosive that it rusts corrodes iron (very, very slowly) on contact.

10% of the US economy is homegrown pot and porn. Hey, with totally home brewed meth maybe combined they will corner 25%.

As they say on Wall & Broad, market forces will not be denied. Is it a great country or what?

Legalized it all idiots, remove the criminal industry that surrounds it all. You government control freaks learned nothing from booze prohibition, so we now see history repeat itself a hundred fold with a vengeance.

A popular recipe for the fertilizer calls for ammonia salt found in garden fertilizers, drain opener and water. Detailed recipes can be found online.

This stuck out at me and I went to google and could NOT find anything about making anhydrous ammonia. I found all kinds of things that USE anhydrous ammonia, but nothing about making it.

BTW -- I thought the gov cleaned up all those "anarchist's cookbook" sites ?!?! Half the stuff I found was about how to make bombs!

I tried several searches, no recipes for anhydrous ammonia. Well, I am not counting one manufacturer who advertises how they make theirs so pure, since it involved some rather sophisticated process control, high pressure tanks, sensors, etc ... not "simple" at all.

A large percentage of the hits I got in the first try were warnings to farmers about people trying to steal it. It is apparently a really big problem for the farmers who use the stuff as fertilizer (high nitrogen).
