Dang. Gary Hart has run his mouth all over the country not predicting but telling people he was certain we would suffer thousands of casualties and experience disaster in Iraq. Would've made great commercials for Bush!

I had a brush with history with respect to Gary Hart. My wife and I got married on May 3, 1987. That was the day the Gary Hart story broke. When we were in New York City (on our honeymoon), I happened to be looking out my hotel window and right across the street was Gary Hart himself giving a press conference of sorts. Apparently he was staying at the hotel right across the street from us. My new wife and I rushed down to street level to check out the spectacle.
Anyway, my wife and I just celebrated our 16th anniversary and we were just talking about that episode at dinner the other night. Hart's mistake was running four years too soon, I guess.
