'Osama Mama' Murray Brags of Skipping Vote for Photo Op on USS Lincoln

The Taliban's favorite U.S. senator, Patty "Osama Mama" Murray, isn't carping like Sen. Robert "KKK" Byrd about President Bush's visit to the USS Abraham Lincoln. Though she attacked the president on Operation Iraqi Freedom, now she's bragging about her own photo opportunity with the Lincoln's crew.

Murray's handlers still don't like to talk about her praise for mass-murdering terrorist Osama bin Laden, but they did issue a press release Tuesday quoting her address aboard the ship in Everett, Wash.:

"Rear Admiral Kelly, Captain Card, Governor Locke, Members of Congress, elected officials, and most of all - the crew of the Lincoln, I was originally scheduled to be in Washington, D.C., today to vote in the Senate, but when I heard that the Lincoln was finally coming back home to Everett, I told my colleagues, 'I'm making a U-turn. Get over it.'"

And will you, Patty, please get over your refusal to apologize for your bizarre statement glorifying the alleged good deeds of bin Laden?

I can barely stand the thought of her nearness to our wonderful men and women of the Lincoln.

This reminds me, I think O'Reilly gave the name of some half dozen Dem Senators and Congressmen who also flew out to the USS Abraham Lincoln. How come the Democrats aren't asking how much their trips cost and why did they go?

What is it with the dims and Abraham Lincoln? While clinochio was in the White House, he rented the Lincoln bedroom to the highest donor. Now, President Bush lands aboard the carrier Lincoln and the dims screem bloody murder. Yes, the trip cost something. But so did all those high-tech missels x42 lobbed up camels rears and into empty tents. Those cost far more than the trip W made last week. I'm sick of the double-standard used by the dimwits on the left.

Yes, the trip cost something.

Not necessarily any additional cost. Flights between a carrier and land are routine. If, as it appears, President Bush simply hitched a ride on one that was going anyway, it wouldn't have cost anything. Plus, there was the cost savings from his going into an already-secure environment rather than having to secure a location on land. Given that he wanted to meet the sailors, it was cheaper to do it on the carrier than on land.

but when I heard that the Lincoln was finally coming back home to Everett, I told my colleagues, 'I'm making a U-turn. Get over it.'"

Background

That statement was actually a reference to an incident that occurred on the Lincoln On Jan 1, 2003. This ship had been headed home on Dec. 31, 2002. My son, who was on board reported to me that he was outside, having a cigar with some buddies, celebrating their return. They then noticed a slight listing to port. They waited, as the listing continued, they threw their cigars overboard, knowing that they were turning around and were in fact not headed for home.

The effect on the crew was one of extreme disappointment, and it reflected in everyone's attitude. Captain Card made an announcement, but there was minimal effect on morale. The next day, New Years Day, Admiral Kelly came on and annouced to the men:

'We're making a U-turn, get over it!'

The words were not well received by the crew, and became a running gag amongst the crew. Such as:

What? Chicken, again?..... Yeah, get over it!

Osama Mama's use of this expression (depending on how she said it) was either a slap at Admiral Kelly, or showed a total lack of respect for the crew.

My guess is this: If she knew the full story, she could have directed the comment towards Kelly, and scored some points with the crew. But by saying it the way she did (directing the comments to her staff) she failed to realize the implication and has shown a lack of respect for those in a lesser position.

Moved to new district and ran again. Lost election.
Moved to new district and ran agian. Lost election.

Which is kind of typical for dems, like Algor in Florida:

Running For President in '04.
Election results close in Florida, demand a recount. Lost again.
Still did not win in Florida. Damn, Count them again.
Still did notwin in Florida. Double damn. Count again.
Still did not win in Florida. Triple damn. COUNT AGAIN.
etc. etc.
