This is tantamount to admitting that SARS originated in a Chinese bio-weapons lab !

Oops.

Oops indeedy. This story, if it is true, could reveal much much more about the SARS situation in China, then a hundred other articles combined. Why would a government, even a communist government, take such draconian measures? I don't know your interpretation, but mine tells me that things just may be worse than is know.
By the way, do you never sleep?

In the first para last line, 'know' = 'known'

What do you think would happen to Americans if they broke through the quarantines of the new laws here?
Same thing.
Do I smell my flame throwers yet?

Or in the labs of Bin Laden and his Harvard trained goons.

I'm glad to see China take this step. They need to take draconian actions.
This is just one step short of executing SARS victims, a measure they may eventually contemplate.

It may be the only way. But it sounds as if its out of one of those grim/dark sci-fi novels.

I think by now most everyone knows me and my attitude about sars people call it Capt. Tripps as a joke. I am starting to believe we may be looking at a form of Capt. Tripps.

I have a friend here from Beijing. The community where her parents live is "closed" to the outside. They have their own shops and the homes share a commons, so they are able to do that. Her younger brother, who works in the city, does not come home. He lives in an apartment with several co-workers who also do not go home. His wife just had a baby, so he does not get to see them. Since he works in the city, he cannot be allowed out in case he is exposed to the disease. Really serious stuff.

What dire consequences these people are facing. If sars doesn't kill them the government may very well finish the job.

Thanks for posting. This is a good article, though I am sure some will accuse those of us who read and comment of being panic-mongers.
