Matrix Reloaded. Has Anybody seen it?

Just curious if anybody has seen this flick yet? The first one was great, but I have been disapointed with squels before.

We're going to Saturday's 10:30AM matinee. You're right about sequels and hopefully this one won't disappoint. Some of the critics nit-pickey reviews are really bothering me.

Just got back from the 7:00 pm show. Was a lot of fun, is not appropriate for the young-uns, and was not as predictable as I had feared.

BUT, I figured it had to fall short of the original, given the "surprise" nature of that picture. That said, it's uber-cool stylistically, and devoid of any pretense of a message.

Yes. I was disappointed, although I guess it was worth seeing. At least we don't have to wait long before it gets wrapped up this fall. Manage your expectations.

Not yet - because I need to rewatch The Matrix dvd first as a refresher. Went & saw X2 today and noticed there were a lot of return Matrix Reloaded viewers in line who were talking about having seen it already the first night. So, that's a promising sign!

It is a bit of a head-fake. At first I thought it sucked, but after a while I realized that at those points where Neo is "phoning it in" it is because of the head-fake.

Watch carefully at the end when they are out of the Nebuchadnezzer and the robotic Sentinels are coming at them. Then stay through the entire credits to see the Matrix:Revolutions trailer.

Saw it, loved it.

A fun romp, the plot moves, a lot happens.

Good effects, if you like that sort of thing. ;-)

And it looks like the story is going a whole new direction again, from the looks of the preview of Matrix 3 at the end of the credits.

The credits are long, maybe 15 mins, but at the end is a trailer worth waiting for, in my opinion.

Says a lot about where the story is going. I think they filmed them together and are releasing them this close together for a reason -- they're really one complex story.

The part you want to watch carefully is when Neo is speaking to the matrix creator with all of the monitors in the background. The creator mentions the "grotesqueness of humanity" as images of war, death, destruction, Nazi Germany flash across the monitors and for a few frames the images of George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush are shown.

I couldn't believe that I was seeing this when I went to the 10:00 p.m. early showing last night here in Oregon City.

What a #!^&'ing slam.

I went to see it again tonight with my sister and I confirmed the presence of this subliminal bull crud.

Somebody tell me I am imagining this. I will not see this movie again!

I just saw it. From my standpoint, the plot was slow, the dialogue wasn't crisp (or that thought-provoking) and the fight scenes were somewhat repetitive. A few scenes stood out as gripping. Judging by the audience reaction (remember, opening night is populated by fans, not average theatregoers), the Matrix fans enjoyed the movie. So I'd give it a 5 of 10, but if you're a Matrix fan, you'll probably get more out of it.

Very interesting. I didn't catch that (the "grotesqueness of humanity" coordination with images of Bush) when I watched the movie. Must have flashed by quickly and there were a lot of screens in the background. Needless to say, I'm pissed that they pulled that stunt. Leftists can't resist themselves- they feel a compulsion to inject their political opinion in forums where it's inappropriate. In short, they have no decency.

SOME TIPS

-- Watch closely for room numbers (101). A reference to 1984. From George Orwell's 1984: 'You asked me once,' said O'Brien, 'what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.'

-- Try not to watch the fight sequence between Neo and the Smiths too closely -- you will see Neo's glasses go on and off for what seemed like 30 times!

-- Watch for Neo's plugs -- he has all of them in most scenes in Zion (even though the first flick started with the Neb. crew removing them!).

-- Note the 6th iteration (after the first failed) -- that is, the 7th iteration (or 7th "day" to create...).

-- They clearly set the stage for Revolutions by opening up discussions of the balance of POWER and relationships between man and machines.

Question: where are the kids in Zion?

FINALLY

-- If you want to see the movie trailer and some sequences from the REVOLUTIONS episode to be shown in November -- DON'T Leave the theater too early. Wait a miserable 9-10 minutes watching all those credits and listening to that Anarchist Rock noise -- it comes up at the very end.

It was, in my opinion, absolutely remarkable. It seems that not everyone agrees with that, so don't take my word for it. But me and my wife are going to see it again as soon as I can. Then I'm going I'm going to sit outside a theatre for 6 months waiting for the final installment...

Everyone should see "Dark City" to see where the W. brothers got the idea for the matrix. Much better movie too but as one reviewer said, you'll enjoy it more if you DON'T listen to the 10 seconds or so of setup in the voice over by Kifer Sutherland at the very begining of the movie

As much as I agree with you that Dark City is also a phenomenal movie, that's not where the brothers got their idea. Dark City was in production at the same time The Matrix was. In fact, The Wachowskis had approached studio execs about their film years prior. The only reason it didn't get produced earlier is that they were rookies, and no studio exec on the planet was going to shell out $60M to them, no matter how good their story was. So they threw together the movie "Bound", proved themselves, and only then got the necessary budget.

Both movies I think will always be in my collection.
