unless any of the Mexicans had a criminal background or an outstanding warrant. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but DOESN'T BEING IN THIS COUNTRY ILLEGALLY GIVE THEM A F'N CRIMINAL BACKGROUND???

seat belt use was the primary reason for the stops, but through the checks police discovered drugs, suspended licenses and a stolen license plate. It's not about safety. It's fishing.
Warnings were given to those not wearing seat belts.
If they were serious about safety they would have issued tickets.

No problem. They are Mexicans. Give them their first social security and WIC checks for $3,000 this month, a key to a government home and everything will be okey dokey. We can't pick on illegal Mexicans. W said so. And Vicente Fox said we are racist if we don't do like it. So let's all hold hands and give a big FR Kumba-Ya hug to our newest illegal immigrants, soon to illeally vote demorat at a polling place near you.

This happens all the time here in the N. Panhandle of W.Va. Our state troopers will stop a van for speeding along I-70, and find a dozen or so illegals inside. When they call INS in Pgh., they get the same response - "Let 'em go." When we had a few dozen illegals in our little town working construction on a new college dorm, the INS couldn't be bothered to drive the 45 miles from Pgh to investigate. In other words, "so what?"
I don't know whether this is unique to this particular regional office, but a few heads need to roll.

Of the nine Mexicans in the truck, seven were illegal aliens, one had a green card and one, the driver, had been naturalized, Lyons said.

Legal immigrants are the enablers and employers of illegal immigrants. This is one way "ethnic"restaurants can charge less and put legal restaurants out of business.

but the U.S. Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services said it wasn't interested in getting involved That's becuase the U.S. Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services does not have any enforcement ability. Even if they wanted to get involved, they have no officers with arrest authority.
The Greensburg police called the wrong agency. They should have called The Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

a seat belt awareness checkpoint Sounds illegal in itself. I'm against these checkpoints ---they're really only for bringing in revenue so they only get the people who look like they might pay their ticket.

This is INSANE. Here we are at another high-level alert for terrorism and yet anybody can sneak into our country. Our borders are not secured, illegals are not deported, business that hire them are not penalized, and we are supposed to be fighting terrorism? Ha!

Their names were checked through the police crime computer, Lyons said. None showed a record of criminal activity. How do we know if the illegals gave their true name to the police?
