I would have to agree with you.
I am 38 this year, and so is my wife. We were married at 19yrs. I have watched her age to perfection, even after 4 children, she is beautiful. She still "defies Gravity".

Well--the fact that OUR wives have aged gracefully and are our comfort and joys does not detract from the larger truth of the article--which is that, given a choice, (and the liberty,) older men will marry younger--as much younger as they can get away with.
The author's point deals with "using"--which is virtually the antithesis of "loving."
