Reading this makes me wonder even more what my state -- Oklahoma -- is doing with the Education money!
If anyone thinks their Republican candidate is secure and will win re-election, take it from me -- strange things can happen unless they are unopposed. After the dust had settled in 2002, Oklahoma ended up with a RAT Governor and tax hikes that keep appearing! An Independent did in Steve Largent and in his place, we got the RAT Brad Henry who never can seem to make up his mind what he wants to do except raise fees, etc.
Then our lone RAT Congressman Carson from NE Oklahoma voted AGAINST the Tax Cut! Hope voters there are keeping track! We need Dr. Tom Coburn BACK!!!!

By the way, there is a Washington Times column that says Don Shula is holding a fundraiser for Graham of Florida. I thought people needed to be aware of this.
Doesn't he have a chain of restaurants? If I am right about that, I would recommend people eat elsewhere!

Made me sick. Shula is promoting the guy who promised that Florida ballots would be even MORE contested in '04 than they were in '00!

A Freeper coined the phrase about the " Living Room Factor"-could you stand to look at any of these candidates beaming into your living room every day. And the answer is a resounding No. The first task for the Democrats should be to find a candidate who doesn't make you queasy when you look at them.Even Edwards looks odd,with his quasi JFK do.

I wonder where in the Constitution it authorizes Congress to spend money on education. They use the line out of the Preamble:
"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquillity, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. "

I wonder where in the Constitution it authorizes Congress to spend money on education.There is no Constitutional authority for the Federal Government to spend tax revenues on local education outside the Federal territories and reservations (an there only by implication, as one of the attributes of a local government).
This is a terrible issue for Republicans to be offering to fight on!

Excuse me ... didn't Ted Kennedy WRITE THE EDUCATION bill which the dems were so happy to have and which spent MORE MONEY THAN THE DEMS WERE PLANNING ON SPENDING.

Don Shula lived and raised his family in Miami Lakes a community that the Grahams father begin developing in 1964. He died two years later leaving Bill and Bob Graham to develop the community of some 20,000. It is Bill's son-in-law runs Shula's Steakhouses.....

Same place it authorizes the Purchase of Territory like Louisiana (Thomas Jefferson culprit), the establishment of Executive Departments (George Washington culprit), the establishment of a Presidential Residence (John Adams culprit).
There is also no provision that Jello should be served in the Congressional cafeteria on Thursdays, nor even the right for Congress to spend taxpayer money to build a cafeteria.

My Mom used to take Clinton's picture on any of the news magazines and turn it over so she wouldn't have to see it during the week!
