This fits into what I posted yesterday:
I think that a Hillary! run in 2008 will hinge on the 2006 NY gubernatorial race. Is Pataki eligible to run again? Who are likely candidates? If Hillary! runs for Senate in 2006, she risks giving up the seat in 2008. Does New York have laws regarding holding a Senate seat and running for another office simultaneously like Lieberman did in 2000? If Hillary! wins in 2006 and has to give up her seat in 2008, a Republican governor will appoint a Republican to take her place, thereby shifting another Democrat seat to Republican in the Senate.
If Hillary! decides not to run for Senate in 2006, a Democrat may likely retain her seat, but then she runs for president while being out of federal office for two years.
Could a Bill Clinton mayoral stint be "insurance" against losing a Democrat Senate seat in 2006 or 2008?

Californians are breathing a sigh of relief. He'd win in California if he ran in this fall's recall election.

Well, since he couldn't win in Arkansas, he would have to run in New York. He's the south's revenge for carpetbagging.

All I can say is this: If NY elects him, NY deserves him. I simply cannot believe that any state would first Hillary itself, and then Bill itself. Masochistic.
To: Recovering_Democrat
If he runs...New Yorkers will probably elect him.
Ethics, morality and character don't even rate as the election of the hildabeast serves to suggest.
I think it sucks as I am for anything that will get chuckie schumer out of the senate.

Ah, but you left out the best part of the report :) That when FOX called Toon's office to get a comment on the report, staffers could be heard bickering in the backround about what to say. They finally told FOX they'd call back, but hadn't as of Hume's report.

Oh No! Mr. Bill!
I despise this man.
What is that strange sucking sound? Oh never mind.

He will win. A large portion of the electorate nowadays sees politics as basically another form of entertainment. Voters will not be able to resist the lure of having Clinton to gawk at and talk about and root for, as their governor.
Thank God for Presidential term limits.
To: Recovering_Democrat
You mean Eliot Spitzer, NY attorney general. He's just as bad as Schumer and the rest. I don't think Bill would ever beat Pataki. The Republican machine in NY would crush Clinton. There's some lean, mean and tough political Republicans in this state.

Full quote here as well:
Hillary needs to be defeated in 2006. If she is reelected for a second senatorial term, and is then tapped to be the Presidential nominee for 2008, it's quite possible that Bill Clinton could run to take her place in the U.S. Senate. Gov. Pataki's present term of office ends January 1, 2007. If he is defeated by a Democrat in 2006, or decides not to run for a 4th term, a Democrat could be controlling the Governor's Mansion and appoint Bill Clinton to replace his wife. And then, Bill Clinton could run for that office in any special election. Chances are he'd win because of New York City. As well, there is always the possibility that Bill Clinton could run for the office of Governor of New York State. When will this nightmare end? We've still got Chelsea to deal with and whatever little curmudgeons she produces.

It's perfect for Bill. It's all about power tho.
Free housing, Governor's Mansion, servants and entertainment budget. Access to New York's finest police department, and more State Troopers.
No more parking problems. A fantastic social life that he misses AND another pension! Oh yes, Bill wants this job BAD.
Hillary will be a First Lady again. How special is this? Gives me the warm fuzzies...sw
