Please help! If anyone knows a good attorney in the Las Vegas area.
This is a real estate case, and we want to file an abuse of process and other charges.
We have had terrible attorneys and live in Idaho. My mother is ill and can not at this time deal with it. She has a heart condition and this has hurt her health. I am trying to help but I can not fly down until after I heal from my hysterectomy scheduled for June 17.
The case is now moving and I am not getting calls returned or paper work from our attorney. I finally got some paper work from March today included was a default judgment on a Justice court case that we did not even know about the hearing.
This is not just a normal case. The woman is a con woman and very intimidating and we need a strong attorney that will not be intimidated by her foul mouth, or manipulated.
Thanks for any and all help!

well, there's Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe, and there's also
that Japanese firm, Sosumi, which used to be called Isuyu.
good luck.

Thank You so much tomorrow I will be calling. I hate hiring an attorney over the phone because of our past problems. They sound great and then they don't do a thing. They talk and chat to others, don't file much and send a huge bill.
My mother really needs help and has a great case. Fraud and much more.
Thanks again!

No problem -- Martindale-Hubbell is a well-established (inter)national legal directory.
The print version includes rating codes for some lawyers ("A-V" being the best, then BV, then CV) that show that particular attorney's local reputation for experience in handling certain types of legal matters.

Boy that is what I could use. I do not want to get another bad attorney that charges A-V prices but dosn't even do CV quality work.
Thanks Again!

Thanks for the suggestion but this woman is abusive to many of the elderly people that live in the trailer park. She has threatened people and even had a 90 year old woman in tears.
The tenants that live in the park have tried to get something done. They have had agencies out there. She gets away with unbelievable things. She even told one person and laughed in there face that they would not be able to get anything done because she has a nice black councilman as her friend. Meaning she had been paying him off.
If we can get a good attorney this will all come out. Our attorney has listed me, my mother and this woman as our witnesses for the case. We have at least 50 witnesses that should be listed. He has made no effort at all in our case.

My mother does not live there. She holds the note on the trailer park. My grandfather owned it. She sold it in order to get away from the pressure. She was not in the area to take care of it and it was to upsetting for her.
She did not want to sell it to this woman. She told her Real Estate agent this. The woman was yelling and screaming at the people who lived there even when she was in negotiations with my mother.
So my mothers agent came up with a new buyer. A nice young man. They put the contract in his name or assignee, then once it was signed by my mother the real buyer was disclosed which was this woman.

Answer:
You may want to consider talking to the local law enforcement about criminal fraud charges, as well as the civil law case you have.
Misrepresentation of who the buyer is, once you specified you did not want them to buy it, can be a criminal charge as well.
I would also talk to the state corporation commission about the agent and their practices.
just a little information..not legal advice. I'm not a bar member in that state

I dunno if he works in the field you need but this man is a bulldog. He is relentless and does not let go. He is the type of attorney you want on your side. He comes highly recomended from many people.

Your mother most likely hasn't a leg to stand on. A buyer is a buyer and, if the man did a proper purchase with no problems, he can then resell to the woman. He could even have used her money. You mother sounds like she willingly sold to a person she desired to, even if he was a straw purchse for the woman.

You mean they took a retainer, and now won't talk to you? Shocking. sigh.

But when her own real estate agent knew the true nature of the buyer and did not disclose it to her he has breached his fiduciary duty. Everyone involved knew the nature of who it was going to except my mother. I would say right there that is obtaining something by fraudulent means. She did not have to carry a note for someone who she felt was mentally unstable.
The son also had a bankruptcy about a year before the purchase and was not a credit worthy person.
The only thing about going after the real estate agent is that he had a recent bankruptcy about two years ago and she would probably not getting anything.
The deal from the start was wrong.

Plus this woman has breached her contract by not performing what she is suppose to under the deed of trust. She is in monetary default for one she stole the late pays that where suppose to go to my mother at the close of the deal, and she had refuse to turn them over to her. My stepfather accidentally paid a bill for the pool and she has refused to reimburse them for that. She paid attorneys fees to attempt to get her to comply with her contractual agreement. She paid to have a tree trimmed in the park since this woman yells at everyone every time they asked her to trim a branch that she will cut it down to the nub and she does. Then she laughs at them at tells them she hopes they have a hot summer with no shade.
And the pool she has told them she will open on August 30.
She has filed fraudulent lawsuits against my mother, knowing if she does not send someone to justice court they award her with an automatic default. Somehow she got away with one by us not knowing the date nor serving us with anything for the hearing. This was in October we just found out about this yesterday.
I say my mother has an extremely good case. Plus she has many letters and once we start subpoenaing records from agencies it is going to really show allot. It very well may be something the FBI may be interested in with the probe that is now going on up there.

Oh she hears from her attorney on a monthly basis. ONLY THE BILLING. Saying he has done this or had to prepare something or talked to someone.
We never get any papers or the details. And there is very little to show in the court papers for the amount he has charged her.
Her retainer has been long gone. I have just been to sick to go up and deal with it right now myself.
Soon that will change though after I recover from the surgery. And I pray before then we can get a good attorney and not have the worry.

The first thing I ask potential clients is "what do you want out of this case." I do not walk away from cases like this....I run.
Why? You can never please the client in this type of case. After reading your thread, I'm still not sure exactly what you want or what your damages are.
Did she sell the property and hold a note on the sale price? Does she still own the property? I'm kinda confused, other than the fact that the lady is a meanie.

Thanks for the advice. She has attempted this. This woman basically has threatened my mother with frivolous lawsuits and harassed her. No one will do anything. She knows my mother has a heart condition and can not travel 1300 miles away. It is saying if you do not give me and do exactly what I want I will sue you. This is actually attempted extortion. This woman definitely has someone in her pocket up there.
She has told people she does not have to follow the law she is the law.
One man from one agency is getting allot of heat from the people living there because she just does what she wants.
He told someone that he does everything he can and that he is just an investigator. He says he works under three people in the agency and he does not have the final say.
So she has someone and stated to another person it was one of the councilman.
