Private company making a judgment call.
Good for WalMart - I am going to make sure I go shopping there this weekend.

Wow! Hillary going to the same place as the great unwashed? Her Presidential campaigning has begun.

It's about cover, not content. I agree with Walmart.

The Million Moms have been campaigning them heavily.
Some, what used to be decent magazines, have just gotten crappy, with sleazy fashions.

Most womens magazines look as if they are geared towards men, if you judge by the person on the cover.

Wasn't it during those horrible, greedy 1980s? I would have thought that she was running a homeless shelter during that time.

I guess it was only fair since they totally took away a lot of Men's favorite magazines from the store a while back (like Maxim.) It would be a bit MORE fair if they removed all these women's mags JUSt like they did the ones for men but they won't do that because these are higher sellers. Of course, I think the whole thing is dumb. Just put adult mags on top shelves and others lower down and if they HAVE to have mags in the checkout line use WOman's WOrld or Home & Garden or something like that. The only mags I buy are US Weekly and tabloids so this won't even effect me anyway. I've been married 6 years and already know "How to Please Your Man in Bed" so the mags are no use to me.

I applaud this decision also.
BTW: Are you aware that Hillary sat on the board of Wal-Mart?

Is Redbook dirty on the cover now? It's been years since I read one but I don't remember it being anything more than Woman's World with a few more articles on looking pretty.

Hillary used to be one of their attorneys and she used to be on their (WalMart's) Board of Directors.

I'd rather see a cover with a pretty girl than Hildebeast.
This is why I don't like Wal-Mart's takeover of communities. When they make decisions like this (which they are well within their rights to do), it's harder to find a store that has chosen differently.

Don't buy those (or an such mags) personnally, but really don't have a problem with the eye-candy cleavage while standing in the checkout lane. Is there a probelm?

lol yeah, well, the point being that one should aspire to be the "cover girl" type, and turn heads.
All too often though, it's the prematurely ageing pot-bellied craggy-looking woman wearing the midriff top and the low cut jeans, prompting me to cry out like Phoebe on Friends: "My eyes! My eyes!" LOL

Some of these mags are just aiming for the children who never really grew up and now into their 20's , 30's and 40's. This is why some of the nation decided to elect the Clinton's knowing full well that they were who we knew they were.

Is Redbook dirty on the cover now? It's been years since I read one but I don't remember it being anything more than Woman's World with a few more articles on looking pretty. Glamour shots with cleavage is all.... I think most of the upset is over the Headline Teasers.... it is no longer just "Top Ten Ways to look pretty", it is "20 tips for hotter, more fulfilling SEX" "10 things your man wishes you knew how to do in BED"
One thing that has always interested me about women's magazines is how they have to offer a numbered list or many choices for everything. All articles give you "50 tips on _____" or "9 Sure fire ways to ____" or "5 easy steps for _____"

Walmart is controlled by the radicals such as Hitlery.
