There is news again about Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, better known to most of us as "Tiny Tom" and to the White House as "Bush's Bane" for his unprincipled criticism of the president and our country's peace and war policies.

Yo, Tommy! Be sure to throw out the phrase "vast right wing conspiracy" as often as possible. That really works. And for worts, try dry ice.

The senator throws the terms "rich" and "poor" around so much that they have lost all meaning. Poor Tom cannot understand the difference between the rich and those earning high incomes...

Some Freeper defined it best: Democrats define the rich as people who have jobs. Democrats define the very rich as people whose spouses also have jobs.

Maybe he can slip in a few risky schemes as well.

Good hit piece, but I believe the author got Thomas Sowell confused with Walter Williams.

"One Democratic National Committee member recently told us, "Republicans are demonizing Tom Daschle."

Poor little Tommy; getting his panties all in a wad because he might actually be held accountable by the voters. The idea! I guess when you consort with demons, you tend to get demonized. Kinda goes with the territory.

Good chance here for Thune. He couldn't go for a recount: even accounting for Democrat vote fraud, he lost by exactly 1% of the vote, which is the exact same number of votes the Libertarian candidate got...as a result, S.D. elected ANOTHER anti-Second Amendment, environazi pandering Democrat (Johnson), rather than pro-Second Amendment, pro SFI-style-forest-management Thune.

Though not a S.D. resident, the US Senate has definite implications for everyone in the country, and I've been ticked about that election result ever since. I posted the breakdown of the vote count here on FR back in November, but can't find it now.

No matter what the whiners say about Thune (like he wussed out for not calling for a recount, which would have been a disaster because he still would have lost by the number of votes given away to the Libertarian candidate) the WHINERS shoulda VOTED for him.

'Yo, Tommy! Be sure to throw out the phrase "vast right wing conspiracy" as often as possible.'

And "deeply saddened"...and he should make MANY more backroom deals with the environazis, so he can aid in the devestating wildfires decimating OTHER states, while working on an exemption to HIS obstruction for South Dakota.

I love cornbread, but you are right. What most of us think of as bread is made of wheat. Your insightful comment reminds me of the old joke about the agronomy major who came home from college and said to the old farmer, "Your ways are old-fashioned and inefficient. I bet you don't two bushels of apples from that tree." The farmer replied, "You're right son. That's a pear tree."

In saying what he said, Daschle made a classic gaffe. Unfortunately, the media don't report his gaffes the way they report those of conservatives.

why should the republican party blame the libertarian party when it does'nt win votes? Instead of demonizing libertarians maybe it should look to to own own policies

Your link reminded me of a discussion I had with someone... She complained that her husband's employer wasn't doing enough in the form of security & all of his co-workers were also concerned. I asked her if the employees ever considered volunteering a bit of their time to provide more security themselves. She told me the employer wouldn't let them. I responded, "how do you know?" Has anyone asked him? Then she switched reason, "it's not the employee's responsibility." Guess their safety wasn't that much of a concern to them afterall, cuz if it was, they would do something about it instead of demanding someone else do it for them.

"It's a certainty that Bill Clinton will be in Sioux Falls to campaign for Daschle in this most expensive campaign..."

Forget his many scandles and stuff...in light of the fact of Bibba's refusal to do anything real about terrorism, including his refusal to take Binny on a silver platter...How's Bubba's blathering gonna help Tommy? LOL

Unfortunately, that's the attitude that allowed the September 11 attacks to succeed. I don't blame the passengers on the planes. They only acted as our society has conditioned people to act. People today think that the proper response to evil is to call 911 and wait for "proper authorities" to handle everything. They think that it is wrong for individuals to take the initiative to resist evil with force. That attitude is what allowed the terrorists to succeed even though they were outnumbered 10 to 1 (or more) on every plane and were armed only with box cutters. If people hadn't sat around waiting for "proper authorities" to handle the situation, they could have beaten the terrorists, and only a few people would have died. The problem isn't just with liberals. I love Barbara Olsen, but she called her husband from the plane telling him that the pilot was asking what to do. Her husband didn't really have an answer. The proper answer should have been, "Have the men attack immediately and tear those ragheads limb from limb," and she shouldn't have had to ask her husband for that answer. Your friend's attitude is symptomatic of this problem, and it is a societal problem that we must fix.

Yes, I am deeply saddened and discouraged as well. Tiny Tom has elevated soft-spoken whining and faux sadness to an art form.

I am deeply troubled. Nay! I am deeply concerned.

While I thought most corn was used to produce meat.

Actually the corn is used to fatten the meat and give it more flavor. Meat has the ability to reproduce and thrive on scrubby vegetation all by itself.

As fluffly clouds and rainbows make me weep, I can understand the profound sensitivity of Tiny Tom. I long to be one with the earth, and I'm often deeply, deeply troubled, affected, attentive, caring, implicated, interested, privy to and solicitous of all pain in the universe.

I'm also afflicted, altered, changed, compassionate, concerned, damaged, distressed, excited, grieved, hurt, impaired, impressed, influenced, injured, overwhelmed, overwrought, sorry, stimulated, stirred, sympathetic, tender, touched, troubled and upset! Just like Tiny Tom!
