Need some anti-recycling bumper stickers (vanity)

Here's the deal. Out in Sacramento County where I live they provide each house with three of those big plastic trash cans, a brown one for garbage, a black one for lawn clippings and a green one for recycling products.

When I first moved in they showed up with all three and I told them to take away the recycling can because I was not going to use it. Family and friends suggested that I keep it and just fill it up with regular garbage. My problem is that I refuse to place it at the end of my driveway along with all the other sheeples advertising that I don't mind participating in socialist behavior modification.

My problem now is that when I moved in there were just my wife and two daughters and I and so I got by with the trash space we had. After the third baby I went to a trash compactor for all the plastic bottles and cartons and that saved a ton of room for a while. We had another baby this year and now with 6 people in the house the volume of trash has gone up and its getting diffuclt to deal with.

My choices were to either order another brown garbage can and pay through the nose for it; (apparently this is considered bad behavior for we lab rats, and when you order another one they need to apply a severe electric shock by way of some huge monthly charge.) or to order the green can for free and just throw garbage in it.

So I finally gave in and ordered the green "recycling" trash can. To set the message straight for my neighbors and other passers bye, I want to plaster it with anti-recycling bumper stickers.

I don't think the garbage-nazis care, since no one has objected yet to the DUMP DAVIS stickers we all still have on our cans on my block.

My request to my fellow freepers is this...Where can I get some good anti-environment anti-recycling bumper stickers?

No I don't intend to misuse it. I just have a very broad definition of what garbage is. As far as I am concerned its all the same and I don't care what they do with it or where they take it after they leave my house. SO I'm not misusing it.

Unfortunately the wording on the can indicates that I am participating something called recycling, which I am not. Leaving it at the end of my driveway is kind of like driving with it on the bumper of my car. I don't want to spread that message around so I need to set the record straight.

The city where I live supplies nothing so at least you are ahead of the game as far as money is concerned.

I don't recycle either,it is just too much trouble, but since we use our own trash barrels they don't know what is in it.

Look I'm putting the garbage out by the curb like everyone else does. I'm just not rolling up my sleeves and diggin in garbage the way the lefties would have me do. If they want to pay me to do it, I might think about it.

Recycling is just another form of waste disposal, AFAIC, its politically neutral. What should anyone care if their trash goes to the dump or the recycling center? And if it saves a municipality a few bucks on their annual landfill costs, what's the problemo? I can't think of a sillier thing to have a crap hemorrhage over.

If you put trash in the recycling can, they might not dump it at all. We put some wooden fruit boxes (when you buy a case of fruit, it doesn't always come in a cardboard box) in the recycling can along with our newspapers and plastic, and the garbage collectors left us a note that they don't recycle wood.

Scarp wood can't go in the yard waste can, either, supposedly.

No one is havin a hemorrage. That's the point I'm making it as simple as possible. I'm certainly not going to dig through trash and rinse out milk containers and all of that if I have no incentive. Since recycling does not do what it purports that's actually a dis-incentive.

Its quite simple, really. The bumper sticker is for the same reason you put one on your car. (and there are two on my car).

In college, we had brown or black for trash, blue for recycling.

In another college, we had green or blue for trash, green or blue or white for recycling; the difference is the label on the trash/recycling dumpster.

In another city, recycling used to be green with a label, and any container was fine for trash when the city didn't provide trash cans. Now they provide the trash/recycling cans; green is for yard clippings, blue is for trash, and gray is for recycling.

That wouldn't be accurate. I'm already paying refuse fees. Some socialist however has decided that the world is running out of landfill space, so there is this steep fee schedule to add additional cans -- at a far higher rate than the first can.

I refuse to engage in PC behavior modification, so I am going to contiue throwing away my trash and not let them ride herd on my life

I don't know about anyone else, Dan, but I recycle, and in California, recycling is conservative.

You know the California Redemption Value tax that you pay on each item that you can recycle? If you don't recycle, you just gave the government more money in tax.

Therefore, I believe every Californian has a duty to recycle everything possible to get their money back from the government.

Conservates IMHO, care for the environment just as much, if not more than the wackos. We breath the same air, drink the same water and camp in the same forest...

Taking care of the environment is something conservatives do very well. We just don't do it at the expense of jobs and people. So getting a grren recycle bin AND rolling it down to the curb doesn't seem to be that big of a deal to me. Congrats on your smart move.

Hee in Albany, Oregon, they give you three of four little baskets for recyclinig, you gotta sparate paper, plastic, glass, and I don't know what else, I don't have the room, and don't want the hassle. Where I used to live in Turlock, Ca. they gave you three small cans for paper, glass, and aluminum cans(pop and ber with deposit refund coming), and they weighed it and gave you credit on your bill for recycle value. Here it seems that the recycle centers charge you to take the stuff off of your hands. My wife used to like to recycle, cause she got some spare change, not for the enviroterrorist reasons

We recycle and we don't have to dig through anything, we bundle newsprint and junkmail into paper grocery bags and toss glass, cans, and plastic into a seperate can from our regular thrash. Last time I looked, our town offset its landfill cost by about $50,000, which holds down local taxes. I understand that when recycling programs are badly run they lose money - even have to pay to dispose of stuff that's in oversupply on the reprocessing market. In those cases I advocate simply sending the stuff to the landfill.

We put them in the trash can for the next week. The crates were pretty small, so it didn't make much difference. I didn't realize the garbage collectors inspect the trash, let alone even get out of their trucks.

It's only tough to find a place to store all your garbage. Wait til they propose an incinerator and you find out that your wife and kids will be breathing mercury, cadmium, and lead.

What is so tough about either having a second can in the kitchen, or just taking the bottle outside when you finish with it, That is what I do, and I don't have the recycle containers, I am just too cheap to take up that much space in the bag and have to use another one sooner, if you don't have an excusable physical disability, then you are just being lazy

I remember when you could have 7 or eight big old trash cans along the curb. Then came along this bright idea of limiting each residence to one garbage can and one recycling can, which the residents then got to pay for each month. Recently one of the kids threw a bag of household trash in the recycle can, and they sent me a letter saying that if it happened again they would fine me.

Don't stick garbage in your recycle can, it will cost you more money in the long run, and yes I can understand your frustration.

I agree with you. I don't recycle my cans though, I crush them and turn them in for the pocket money. I know, it's a waste of time and energy, but it's keeping them out of the land fill and I usually get a tank of gas out of it.

No, I never did dig in my garbage. That's the point. I don't know how you are going to separate all the "goodies" from the rest of the garbage unless you set up an assembly line in your house. If you've done that then the libs have really gotten into your life.

But again, my point continues to be: If it is uselessand wasteful, why do it? No one has ever given me a compelling reason to recycle that doesn't involve the false claims of diminishsing resources or lack of landfill space.

I'm not clinging to any falsehood. The nickel is the least of it. I'm not going to spend one extra second dealing with garbage than I have to. No one has yet to give me a reason why I should.

Sadly the left have been so effective in our schools for the past two decades equating recycling with some kind of civic or patriotic duty. It is an economic principle period. The left can't accept that most people would rather throw the can or bottle away than get .002 cents back, so they have tried to force it on us with arbitrary laws mandating recycling, deposits and fees -- for no good reason at all.
