MASS DSS QUESTION - IN SEARCH OF ANDERSON CONSULTING REPORT ON MAXIMIZING FED $$$

Posted on 06/09/2003 4:30:55 PM PDT by Chancellor Palpatine

I'm in desperate search of Mass DSS report issued by Anderson Consulting approximately 1993. My understanding is that it concluded that DSS should target low income and out of state parents for abuse allegations.

And yes, I'm doing this for a business purpose, but one which should make FReepers happy.

Let's clarify this a little. You mean Massachusetts Department of Social Services?

I don't know how you're searching but it may help to know that Anderson Consulting is now known as Accenture.

I'll ply my search skills and let you know if I come up with anything.

Step #1: run down the contract that W. Arthur Andersen worked under. If the report was completed in 1993, then I'd check the FY89-FY93 records. Review the contract and identify the deliverable items.

Step #2: Once you have that, use the Massachusetts equivalent of the FOIA to request a copy of the report. Note: if one dime of federal money went into this, use the Federal FOIA.

Step #3: Litigate the s**t outta them if they try to stonewall.

Yes. The name change was part of the "divorce" settlement with Arthur Andersen in 2001.

Andersen Accounting is still around but is only a shell of its former self after the Enron mess.
