[history]
Elk Grove, Sacramento County -- Mike Todd says there is something "viral" about the work collecting signatures to oust Gov. Gray Davis from office.
It spreads and multiplies on Internet chat rooms and conservative talk radio, outside the sliding doors of Target and Wal-Mart, in strip mall parking lots and offices, until it becomes a force in itself.

What a dream. If Davis is actually removed from office for his political irresponsibility. Maybe...
To: randita; SierraWasp
I see two revolts building up in California:
#1. The urge to rid our state of Davis.
#2. Another tax revolt like the days of prop 13. It will not be new props. We will re affirm prop 13 and turn into tax watchdogs. That revolt will finalize in future elections at the local levels and state levels.

Lets hope so! It is a message going across to the nation. Brit Hume had a segment yesterday on his Special Report regarding the Recall Davis movement!

A recall of Davis (which I signed), doesn't automatically guarantee a Republican replacement. I shudder at the thought of Diane Fienstien or Cruz Bustamante or several others taking the governership.
DiFi would be a gungrabber of the worse kind. As to our economy, I don't believe it can be saved. We have gained far too many low wage earners who require too much gov't largesse and infrastructure that they don't pay for. Over 50% of our current school children, who are our social and economic future, aren't being educated and will grow up to be a huge burden on our economy.

I love the good people who want Davis gone. It is America in action. The people should be able to elect the good people who will do the right thing.

The SF Chronicle had 2 articles on the recall on the FRONT page today. Obviously the libs are getting nervous. One article was how the recall effort was picking up steam. The other was a hit piece on the financial backer, Rep. Issa. You are going to see the liberal media greatly step up their attacks on the recall movement. It appears the recall is going to happen. What is next is any bodys guess. One scary thought would be once the recall is certified that Davis resigns and Lt. Gov. Bustomonte becomes governor making the recall mute. It is going to be a very intersting summer in the golden state.

Why? Would we not be able to recall the next governor that doesn't get the message?

Davis recall: recalls usually fail. What is the point of this attempt? Trying to reverse the election that was lost by fielding a weak candidate? This is a waste of energy, so to speak.

I think not, as this will be historic and will send a big message to any governor that wants to spend money like a drunken sailor.
There comes a time when people in power need to be held responsible for their actions. The recall fits the bill.

this will be historic and will send a big message It might be useful even though it will fail if it gets Republicans organized a little and pries them off their sofas in front of their air conditioners at least through the next presidential election. Who knows, the Republicans might even find a strong candidate to run next time.

If you look at what the spending increases of the past three years have gone for, it's GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE SALARIES AND PENSIONS. Blaming the illegals is a diversion - - - the real inflation in California spending is because they're paying government employees big salaries and huge pensions.
