Renee Malone Home invasion leads to a deadly shootout

Another homeowner fought back overnight.

The homeowner got into a shootout with two robbery suspects on Lark Avenue.

That's in North Memphis.

One of those robbers is dead, the other is in critical condition.

The homeowner also got shot during the gun battle.

Police say he's fighting for his life.

It all happened in this house on Lark Street in North Memphis.

Neighbors say they're can't believe no one heard any gunshots.

They just saw the end result, two wounded robbers fleeing the house.

One of the men fell to the ground in the parking lot of the Traveler's Rest Baptist Church where he died.

Neighbors we talked to say they are surprised at what happened overnight.

They describe the neighborhood as quiet and having a lot of elderly residents.

Had the homeowner not been armed in all likelihood he would have only been beaten to death. No shots fired.

See, this is why we need to repeal the 2nd amendment and ban all guns. This homeowner should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, sued by the surviving robber (obviously driven to a life of crime by our wicked society, poor fellow) and made to cover all of the hapless victim of society's medical expenses. When, oh when, will these tragedies ever end? We need to reeducate the patriarchical white male thought types that feel it is justifiable to shoot, wound, or kill those who are merely trying to redress the inequitable distribution of property (as if there really is such a thing as "property").

Don't forget about a SWAT raid of the house. If no one heard any gun shots, then without a doubt the occupant had an illegal, unregistered silencer. As Sarah Brady will be happy to tell you, guns are supposed to be loud and audible for miles, which is why silencers were banned. Search the house at once!!
